Actually 2 quick questions about using a Cover 0 against 3 WR singleback formation.

1) In a 4-3 all man (no blitz) Cover 0... who covers who?

2) In a 4-2 all man (no blitz) Cover 0... who covers who?

Thanks for the help all.

I have no clue. Why do you want to do that?

To try to double up the #1 & #2 WR in Over Under Man coverage.

tbh, double coverage doesn't do what it should yet. Basically, the WR just has to beat the best of the 2 defenders. Once he does, it's a catch.

The only sure way to get extra coverage on WRs is to load up on DBs and go with a cover 3 zone, or something.

I ran 4-2 cover 0 in a test game the other day.

The HB was staying back to block from singleback. I ended up with the following coverage:

WR1 - Single covered by CB1
WR3 - Triple covered by CB3, FS, MLB
TE- Single Covered by LOLB
WR2- Double covered by CB2 and SS, but the SS lines up over the RT almost and is pretty much out of the play by the time he gets to the WR unless it's a deep route.

Basically, it's absolutely worthless.

The doubling coverage is only half of what I'm doing. My intention was also to bring the safeties closer to the line and double up the outside coverage in general so help stop WR/HB screen pass and outside pitches. I do realize that basically over/under doesn't work... except that you can have your CBs on Tight and your Safties on Loose to get a similar effect.

Wow... that's terrible. Can you post the replay link? Why would it default to triple covering the #3 WR? Especially wierd since usually the FS goes over and usually covers the #2 WR.

I'm pretty sure since Cover 0 is all man. The MLB decided to cover the 3rdWR because of the the HB pass blocking. I don't understand why the SS didn't double cover the TE though. That doesn't make since to run across the field to cover the WR2. When the FS could have with the CB3. A CB3 blitz probaly would have changed all of that.

Here's one of the times it happened, it's actually tough to tell if the MLB is dropping into a deep zone (almost a Tampa 2 type zone without the cover 2) or if he's just moving to the man coverage.

As for why it happens, well, Cv1 and Cv0 have been broken since the first season they were implemented, that's why. People have asked for the ability to select coverage assignments since the "advanced" AI rolled out, instead Bort came up with a big play creator that he couldn't get finished.
