this play seems to be killing other teams, mine hasn't faced it yet but I'd like to be able to know how to stop it when I do have to defend against it. A lot of teams are using fast QB's to sweep L or R. You can't shift your LB's, because you never know what direction they are going to sweep. These QB's are gaining 11-15 yards per carry. If I play a 3-3-5 or a 4-2-6 then that helps get an extra guy oh each side, BUT if they use their HB up the gut, there is no protection there. I"ve been telling my guys to train vision, because I think that will help tremendously. Anyone have any advice or has anyone seen this tactic??

one example.... watch the SS just wiggle back and forth not knowing who to cover

I think CB blitzing is the best way, but it leaves you open if they *do* pass it, etc etc

It is the only play I have noticed that stops my rushing QB from getting 20+ gains

You pretty much have to blitz the CBs and use a 3-4 or 3-3-5. The passing game is not a big enough threat in the pee wees to worry about it anyway (for most teams... )

Run the 3-2, weak shift, Cover 1.

This gives you 1 CB to blitz on each side, the SS on one side and the ROLB on the other - 2 attackers plus the DE to stop the outside rush.

They run inside you're basically fucked, but most teams that run the QB rollout a lot do it pretty exclusively.

So there is no really clear cut way to stop this play without leaving your team open.

Just run a 4-3 cover 2 zone, and blitz both CB's.

Personally I would do a 3-4 Cover 1 Strong Side Shift Zone CB1, LOLB Blitz.

Edit:I have a Rushing QB in Pee Wee and he's been wreaking havoc. I have him built towards strength though because I want him to eventually become a Dual-Threat QB, and since strength in this game goes for running AND passing, I thought it would be a good investment.

LOLB wont get around the TE even if he is a Receiving TE. With the Cover 1 all 3 (LOLB, SS, LDE and even the LILB) will be stopped by just the TE and ROT, its like a car pile up if they run right. If they go left and the CB comes in flat or has very little Str/Tak as many Pee Wee CB do because of the need for Agi/Spd then often the QB goes around him or through him.

That QB run play would be my definition of lame. In football there is an element of injury that stops the QB from rushes. They should add injuries to the sim season. Make QBs more fragile than bigger players and see if it slows down the constant rushes.
