He has 93 Speed at level 21. I figure if he levels up to 40, he will get another 6 points of natural speed and his equipment could give him +30 speed at lvl 40. The question is, is 110 speed too much? Do I stop upgrading equipment for his speed after it gets to 100? What do you think?

There is such thing as too little of other attributes however.

there are different approaches to building, so you have to decide for yourself, but I've seen WRs who kept pumping points into speed up to 6:1 be effective, and I've seen guys who only second or third capped speed (but put their equipment there) and developed their other attributes for a more well-rounded build who also have success.

I would agree that overall there is no such thing as too much speed, and I would say no matter where you stop putting SPs into speed you should put all your equipment there because you get the most value that way. Same for vet points into Track Star. And don't worry about having "too much" speed.

However, I also agree that there is such thing as too little of other attributes, and personally I favor a more balanced build where once you get your speed up to a decent level (which you have), then you get your agility and catching up to at least the second cap and vision and jumping up to at least the first cap. It does no good to streak down the field and then not be able to adjust to and catch the ball.

Oh and balanced builds also help compensate for one or another attribute value getting nerfed. There seem to be indications from Bort that he wants to reward balanced builds, and give secondary attributes more value, as vision this season, so a balanced build can protect you from being very one-dimensional and then having that dimension nerfed.

Don't be balanced. It's a sure way to always be mediocre.

maybe, but there is a point of diminishing returns if you neglect the other abilities too much...

Balanced to a point is the way to go. Focus on one aspect and build around it, but don't totally neglect other attributes.

Depends on what you mean by balanced, I guess. IMO the way to go for almost every position in the game is top pick three attributes and work them all at least to the third cap, then worry about your secondaries.

110 speed is plenty. You won't be the absolute fastest WR in the game, but you'll definitely be in "elite" territory and should be very productive if put in the right role. Personally, I've opted to be a little slower (around 106 speed at level 40) but I'm also going to be sitting at 74 agility and 65 catching at level 40... so I'm fairly optimistic about my future.

If I were you, I'd work on getting agility to the 68 cap next, and meanwhile train nothing but vision/catching. Catching is still underrated, and vision is going to be more important for burners than possession guys IMO, since most bad passes tend to be on long routes.

This game is 80% how you use the WR and 20% how good the WR actually is. I have seen terrible and mediocre builds have incredible success and what looks like good builds have terrible seasons. The game comes down to how good your offense is and the other WRs on your team.
