I know most people think to wait awhile for SA's, but at level 16, speed 52, agi 52, natural. About to level to 17, was thinking about putting 2 pts in first step and 2 pts in change direction.

AEQ currently is at +2 First Step to boot.

or should I just keep upping Speed?

You should be at 61 agility and speed before SAs.

nope, agi/speed should both be to the 68 cap and vision to 62 before you think about hitting SAs

yes, its way too early for SA's i wouldnt even touch them until lvl 32, and thats if u want instant gratification. if u want a great career years 6-10 you should wait till around lvl 40.

+1 my first players are just past their 30's and I find those players not having enough well rounded build yet to make the most of SAs. The more you wait before investing in SA the better your player will be.

I would also agree with this. I`d never touch SA`s before level 32 and would ideally wait until 40.

It makes sense.sometimes, to add s.a's. You can spend 4 points, with custom his super vision would be 3. It helps tremendously. Then you continue to build as normal. Everyone has their own opinions about s.a's, but you have to know which ones will give you the highest returns on your investments.

4 points to get super vision to 2(3 with custom) is definitely worth the investment, once speed/agility/vision are at least capped.

Would I spend S.p's to raise shut down coverage early? Nah probably not. I would do that one later.

It goes for all positions. you have to know what gives the most return. Like h.b. can spend 6 points and bring quick cut to 4 (5 with custom) It makes them a lot better.

You will learn over time what are good and bad s.a's to invest in early. I wouldn't listen to people who are stern about NO SA's till you are level 32-40. That's not good advice really. It's just forum vomit, regurgitated.

but sa's like SV and change direction, once not over done, are GREAT Sa's to invest into early ...

i understand making your player great at the back end of their career, but i also want my player to be great in the 1st 5 season

It depends--it's kind of like slowbuilding. I agree that there are definitely points where investing in SAs would improve your player's performance, but mathematically it's pretty simple: the longer you wait to spend points in SAs, the better your player will be in the long run.

The question is: how long are you willing to wait to be a dominant CB?

yes, they are great SA's, and my CB would probably be considered a bit SA heavy by most, but theres no denying the advantages of natural lvl gains. besides, while your CB may not be great for 5 seasons, imo those last 5 are the only ones that really matter. thats when you playing on a contender for something more than a BBB crown. id say glory in PRO > D-AA.

SV must be invested before level 32. Wayyy before that. If you want to be competitive at least. Your CB will be a joke if he doesnt have any of it.

Id say you can take it to 2 really any time after you take vision to 48. Id take it to 4 after you have speed 68, agility 61, and vision 61.

Of course if you want your CB to be shitty for the first few real seasons of his career go ahead and hold off on SAs until later.

Oh and I once calculated what the losses would be if you held of on raising speed to 61 at 48 48 48 and instead invested 16 points in SAs first. In the end its really a pretty minimal difference. I guess if you think that 70 speed makes a huge difference over 68 speed then sure hold off on all SAs, but some early investment really wont hurt.
