I've got a +1 Cut Block/+2 Strength piece sitting in the store for my blocking TE. I'm debating on whether I should use it or go shopping for another month until I find something remotely useful for blocking.

You know you're gonna buy it. Should work well for your giant - stick it in the locker and come back to the store when you're at +3 level
