I would love to see from top to bottom which league is the best now... Idea for USA Pro vs CPL challenge....


Both conferences (east and west) from both leagues (cpl/usa) vote for their top 16 teams. When all conferences agree on an order of rankings from all 16 teams in each of the 4 conferences, equal seeds must face each other... As the perception is that CPL East is the stronger of their 2 conferences, and Pro West is the stronger of our two conferences, USA East would face CPL West, and USA West would face CPL East.

For example, if in CPL East it was determined that Halifax would be their number 1 seed, and in USA Pro West it was determined that MEM was their number 1, those two teams would face off....

Each game would be given a point value. 1vs1 would be a 16 point game, 16vs16 would be a 1 point game... Winner gets the points for their league... Highest total points at the end is the Strongest Pro League top to bottom...

As most Pro teams are in a ton of tourneys, This can run over the course of the entire season to ensure all teams get a chance to play.

If one team doesn't want to be in the challenge, they slide down to the number 16 seed, and the game is a forfeit, and down to 15 if there are more than 1 teams that don't want to participate....

MEM should not be our #1 seed. They screwed the pooch last year.

you're missing the point.... examples above are a hypethetical scenario... Each conference would vote in their top 16 teams.

(would also serve for nice preseason rankings.)..

I'm not missing the point. I just wanted to make mine.

If people could actually agree on rankings and not get 63 flavors of butthurt when someone ranks their team below someone else, this would be a great idea.

Methinks someone missed the thread listing the past USA Pro champions?

I'm sure calling the East inferior is going to motivate a lot of owners to want to follow you in your challenge though. Right.

A. That is why we have a forum with a bunch of USA Pro guys that put rankings together now.

B. We shouldn't go by conference, just rank the teams 1-16 in both, but honestly there is no guaranteeing all those teams will play. Until we are eliminated from one of our two tournaments I know I won't be making any other scrims.

talking about rankings... any power ranking this pre-season?

That's the champ game, who won h2h in the first game of the year last season? I remember it was the West. He didn't call the East inferior, he just said the West is a little tougher...stop getting butthurt. The funniest thing is that Tooley's team is in the *gasp* East.

I'm sure someone's going to make an attempt or two, but it's going to be difficult to have any degree of accuracy to the rankings. My team and a few others reset VAs across the board and held off on boosts until we get some sort of handle on what the offseason changes really look like. The only thing I'd be brave enough to do at this point is a playoff/non-playoff tier.

And tooley, good luck getting the CPL to join. They'll just troll your thread.
