Vallonia BeaverHunters top San Jose in 4th quarter thriller
San Jose (AP).. The San Jose Chupacabra, a former early season favorite, dropped its third in a row and its fourth in five games, losing 19-17 to the Vallonia BeaverHunters at home. The loss drops San Jose to ninth place in their conference and draws questions as to the team’s playoff aspirations.
“I’m sick….f*%king sick,” said San Jose owner K9Fiend, “We get up by 14 then we just slowly let them back into the game.
Shaking off its offensive doldrums, San Jose broke out to a 14 point lead in the first quarter and seemed to have the game well in hand. But the Vallonia defence came together and stymied the Chupacabra offense, giving their offense to slowly put points on the board. The Vallonia quarterback duo of Li and Alstott put up almost 250 yards of passing while San Jose quarterback Remo Rankin cooled off quickly, finishing with 168 yard and 2 touchdowns balanced by 2 interceptions.
The game was not without unusual moments, with San Jose U.R. Toast, leaping up at the line of scrimmage to intercept a Li bullet thrown over the middle. As was the theme of the second half, however, San Jose was unable to capitalize.
“It was pretty cool. I just kinda stuck my hands up and the ball just stuck,” said Toast, “The next one I’ll take back to the house though.”
For the first time in weeks, Chupacabra linebacker Demetrius McQueen made himself available to the media. And by his mood, he was angered by the Chupracabra’s recent slide.
“It ends here. You hear me, you pencil-pushin’ little freaks? Right here. We ain’t havin’ no more of this mess,” said McQueen, “This is way too good of a team to be 3-6 and we done had enough. So this here is us servin’ notice…..San Jose is back baby….and you know we gonna bring the pain.”
Asked for a prediction for the team’s next game against the Fresno Fire, McQueen responded hotly, “Coach Rawburst is takin’ the leashes off and the dawgs are comin’ to play baby. Zachary Lewis…. Make sure you write a will, boy….we sendin’ you home in pieces.”
