Well, other CB always got like twice as many PD then my guy got thrown at, but this year is extreme. It's like 3-4 times as much as how many times my CB gets thrown at.

My CB is like the most boring player I've ever seen. I'm sure there are guys with more interception then my guy as PD despite being the #1 CB.

Half my tackles maybe more came from ST early in the season or outside rush. In 7 seasons my guy jsut cant be thrown at. When it comes to awears they look at the guy with 90 PD 10 interception and 150 tackles, but how can they be so involved? 90 PD? WTH I've got 30 passes thrown at me all year. Help.

um yeah, the fact that teams are scared of you is a good thing. High stats for a CB are usually considered bad since it means that you are being picked on.

Yeah i know, but those guys that gets thrown at are always known as "better" and gets the awards and stuff.

In post season 8 passes thrown at 1 missed tackle 1 tackle 2 interception 4 PD. I'M allowed something like 9 yards and got 13 off interception, LOL.

Absolutely!

Look at it this way Kostitsyn, those that think the guy with better stats is a better CB are dolts. A SMART owner of GM would look at the tape and see that you're locking it down on one side. The trick is to find those few owners that "get it" and sign on where you're appreciated.

I'll admit, I was giddy when I FINALLY got an award for being tied for 2nd in INT's last season, and I had a good number of PD's too. But I wouldn't venture to say that it was my CB's BEST year at all. Too many tackles and too many passes thrown my way for my tastes. Until GLB manages to introduce a "catches allowed" stat (which I doubt) the TRUE shutdown CB's will only be appreciated by those that watch the film and see how good they really are.

For a real life comparison, look at Champ Bailey. For years he was (or still is) considered the NFL's best shutdown corner, he made the Pro Bowl year in and year out, yet his highest INT totals in Washington were from his first two seasons in the league (5 each year). Why did he make the Pro Bowl? Because other teams simply didn't throw at him, hence the low stats, and in real football circles that was appreciated.

Those of us that have CB's in GLB understand this unfortunate situation we're in, where the better the stats you put up, the worse a job you're doing (in most cases). It's one of the only positions that this fact holds true which is why most people don't appreciate the truly GOOD CB's. While it is hard to be appreciated for it, you know you're doing a good job and as long as your owner/gm/dc understand that as well you should feel appreciated by the only people that REALLY matter...your teammates/ownership.

People who say that the best corners are the ones with no stats, don't know how to build a good corner. Do not recruit them. The Corners who get stats, while shutting down their receiver are the ones you want. AND YES IT DOES HAPPEN.

That statement is about as accurate as saying ALL the best CB's get no stats. Low stats could be bad or good. It could mean that you couldn't guard a bag chips or that you're as solid as Fort Knox in pass coverage. It could just mean that he's not as bad as the other CB's so they get thrown at. When a CB is doing his job well, he will tend to force the pass the other way. Saying that people who understand that don't understand the game is about as smart as saying that you aren't happy because you built a player who does his job well.

I kinda understand how it works and i like the champ bailey comparison, but as every season ends seeing the rankings and all it's kinda annoying never even be close to be in it. For trophy I understand you dont get stats you casnt get trophy, but where's the recognition? In CPL Final 1 PD that's it.

I think it was back in season 2, There was one guy with 150 tackles 100 PD and 10 INT. That's like my career stats/2.

When I see players with 95 PD I really wonder how they do it...

eh who cares. Turnovers are such a crapshoot anyways. All you can really do is increase your odds of these things occurring but if you don't get thrown at then you've done your job.

Look at the games where the stats come from.. Blowing out a team can definitely lead to increased stats, and that is the case there. You are not a shutdown corner if you are thrown to that many times to begin with. Who knows though, I haven't watched the replays, maybe quite a few tackles are on the run game, or Special Teams. Regardless, there is not much of an argument.

In all fairness, that first CB of his did post decent to good numbers in losses and close wins. Too many tackles? Maybe...but he did get a lot of deflections and picks in the mentioned games. I imagine he's doing something right.
