I am trying to figure out what the LOLB, MLB and ROLB should have as far as strengths are concerned. What attributes are best for each position?

simply answer? speed and agility everywhere
complex answer? ROLB = DE, LOLB = CB/SS, MLB = blend of the 2
...if that makes any sense at all

This is pretty much right.
ROLB = primary blitzer / covers HB in the flats
LOLB = plays a lot of coverage, particularly against the TE. Also plays to the offenses right, which is preferred running lane
MLB = does coverage, blitzes, and general run stuffing... usually on the field to make others better (defense general)
ROLB = Speed/Agility/Vision
LOLB = Vision/Speed/Agility/Jumping/Catching
MLB = Specials/Speed/Vision/Agility/Strength/Jumping

Agree but make sure MLB doesn't have low tackling, he's likely to be the best tackler on the team.

and please stop with pump all your sp into agi/speed.... that clearly blew up in everyones face this year. It is not that the power backs that were overpowered this year it was the linebackers that failed to build linebackers... they advised to build a crappy SS.

imo, agility is the most important attribute to stop missed tackles. from what i've heard, theres really not much of a difference btwn tackling in the 40's to tackling in the 50's (never seen it myself, cuz none of my players have tackling in the 50's, but what i've heard). additional strength definitely helps, but everytime i've raised agility i've seen my missed tackle % drop. its all about the angle you take to get someone down. again, just my opinion on what has worked for my guys, but i'd still advise spending points in speed/agi that help you on every play rather than tackling which seems to have minimal marginal benefit

This. There's way more to making a successful tackle than just the tackling or strength ability. Agility, jumping, and I suspect even vision all play a role as well among other things like confidence and stamina I'm sure.

im a mlb...
http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=145794
what advice would you give for the reset on these new va's...im more of the mindset that str/tackling and agility need to be of the highest priority...then the speed/vision...especially to counter the onslaught of power rb's and busted/missed tackles and str of the oline builds for season 7...
i have 27 va's reset and im looking to max out definitely 1, and then put more into another one...im not a force fumble as its my belief that they do have a higher % to miss...Im thinking of maxing out workout warrior and the rest into clutch/textbook tackle/or the speed one...was thinking of helmet smash as im hoping the str will counter the power from the blockers and the rb's/fb's...
ive havent heard too much good on the power or sure tackling va...but i havent found anything on the textbook tackling...is that more of an accurate ability??...so would it be better to build str/vision???
what is your opinion...
