The 30-40 range should be sufficient. It's kind of important, but way below the other relevant skills.

Should aim to have it at 48 one day when you raise in levels. It's important in the playoffs when Confidence/Morale takes a big hit. It's why a lot of player seem to "choke" in the playoffs.

For a powerback confidence can really help you

Honestly, I don't see it make your RB perform better, or enabling SAs to activate, or anything like that. But what I have noticed after training Confidence up to a decent level, was that he's much more consistent over the course of the game.

Last season, when my Confidence was still pretty low, I noticed his production tailing off a lot of times in the second half of our games. At the time, I kept thinking that it was some sort of Stamina issue, so I added a few points to it now and then. But after a while, I realize that it didn't seem to solve the problem, so I started to train Confidence - which helped a good bit.

To me, it's really not worth adding SPs to at any time, but I do think that it's something that is very much worth training. I guess a decent goal to shoot for would be 40 Confidence/40 Stamina/40 Carrying at around level 38 or so.

Powerbacks should cap it eventually. Most defensive players don't put many points into the morale eroding SAs, but the few that do can really hurt a RB's performance if your morale is subpar.

That is why you see the effect many times at the end of games after the defense has slowly eroded your morale as the game goes along. It's a very underrated part of the game, IMO.
