Anyone know if high tackling will dramatically increase the number of tackles a DT makes by increasing the tackling radius? If I had like 60 or 68 tackling will it all me to make more tackles even when engaged with an OG?

My DE's have made tackles while engaged with the OT. But Tackling does not increase the tackling radius. It just gives you a higher chance of making that tackle. Jumping on the other hand. Is said to increase your "Dive Tackling" radius.

I don't think anyone knows for sure...but I think that both tackling and jumping increase the tackling radius, I would say (nobody should quote this) that "jumping" increases your probability of being in the play and "tackling" increases your chance of finishing it.
I wouldn't put anything into "Diving Tackle" unless you already have a bit in the 2 categories it derives it's name from.

Good point - there has got to be more to tackling though then just "Chance of making a tackle". If that's the case then soft cap tackling would be all there is needed.

Why does there have to be? Maybe its a useless skill. Maybe the only use it has is for backs that are big and strong and large in the crotch area

I don't think tackling makes your arms get any longer. Only comes into play when you are in position to make contact with the ball carrier as far as I am concerned.

agreed, but I do think jumping helps you have the potential for being in the play

Higher tackling means higher chance of making a tackle while being held in a block. From what I've seen from players with high tackling, soft capped tackling vs. 68 tackling will roughly make the same amount of tackles while being held by a block.
The only thing I can safely say that increases tackling radius is jumping, but to what extent I am not sure.
