What is the best way to build a bone crushing LB? Every post says put points into speed agility and vision.. BORING! Am I the only one sick of speed being the primary skill for every single position in GLB? I understand why speed is important but it seems everyone disregards FF caused by strength and tackling. I am planning on building a MLB so speed will not be his primary attribute. Any suggestions on how to build a FF monster that can still compete at a high level? I was going to train strength and tackling until I second cap agility soft cap speed and vision. Is this okay or should I focus more to tackling and strength?

60 base str
60 base speed
60 base agility
60 base tackling

100% of EQ to str.

Get to 10+ in Monster Hit, max out in power tackling VA, max out in Sure tackler VA (not textbook, sure tackling) then sit on power tackling.

I personally went down this route a little too late for my MLB since for awhile I was playing OLB.

I have 10 power tackling VA, 6 sure tackling VA, 9 monster hit (will be 11 by beginning of next season), 50 str, 50 tackling, 75 speed, 53 agility, 52 vision.

Last season I was at 0 power tackling, 0 sure tackling, 5 monster hit, close to same attributes.

Last season I caused 4 FFs and with the same # of tackles this season I caused 8.

If I at 60 tackling and 70+ str I'm sure I'd be over 10 FFs.

FYI, I go on power tackling against a speedy halfback, and if its a really good power back (breaks a lot of tackles) I'll go balanced.

I have never seen evidence that strength increases FFs.

Agree with jmog except for would go textbook instead of sure tackler (increasing tackling attribute) and would not put any eq into str, would go 1 piece each speed/agi, rest in tackling. train con to soft cap.

i'm still trying to understand why everyone thinks STR "ought" to be the key to a "hard-hitting" build or forcing fumbles (besides the STR/TAK training combo being called forced fumble drills)

the word "hit" implies something in motion impacting something else. since you can't change you player's weight, the only factor that should increase how "hard" you hit something is how fast you are moving at the point of impact.

for some reason, alot of people don't want to accept that SPD "should" be the key to a head busting LB, but, intrinsically, hard hitting should=speed.

no, str really does have a lot to do with how many fumbles you can cause. Speed helps as well. It's all part of the ingredients.
