Congrats to the Blitz, Packers, Beastmen, Ice, Assassins, Leprechauns, Thunderhawks and Bulldawgs on making the playoffs in Season 7.
Onward to playoff week 2! We have the 5 seeds at the 1 seeds, and the 3 seeds at the 2 seeds in both halves of the league.
(Regular Season Matchup results)
East
#5 Myrtle Beach Carnage at #1 Sleepy Hollow Horsemen (44-6, Horsemen)
Sleepy Hollow welcomed Sin City to the BBB 11 playoffs with a 94-14 demolishing. The Horsemen built a 70-7 halftime lead and went onto the win behind a solid offensive performance and an opportunistic defense. Like Philly in the West, Myrtle Beach avenged their regular season defeat to the Leprechauns in the first round of the playoffs, winning 30-16. Myrtle Beach built on their 13-10 halftime advantage and held them to two FG’s in the second half. While it was an overall balanced attack for the Carnage, their rushing game won the game for them. POTG has to be Fat Cheebe who blew up the Lep’s for 27 pancakes.

Chemistry (overall) – Carnage +12
#3 Louisiana State Tighas at #2 Iowa Hogeyes (44-17, Hogeyes)
Iowa unleashed an offensive onslaught on Indianapolis in the first round, winning 78-17. Max Buckeyed and the offense couldn’t be stopped, on the ground or in the air, and neither could the defense, pilling up 11 sacks. The Tighas continued their aerial assault and beat the Bulldawgs 58-13 with both of their top WR’s going for 14+ receptions, 200+ yds and 2 TDs each. The Hogeyes dominated the Tighas in their earlier matchup in the regular season.

Chemistry (overall) – Tighas +7
West
#5 Philadelphia Birds at #1 Idaho Rex (47-16, Rex)
Idaho beat Chicago Blitz in a sloppy, turnover filled game, but won the turnover battle and in turn, won the game 61-30. Idaho completely shut down the Blitz rush offense, but did allow some big garbage yardage through the air. Philadelphia more than avenged their week 8 loss to Austin, winning 84-32. Philly held Austin to minus rushing yardage. Philly RB Billy Simms went off for 364yds and 6 TD’s in the win. Philly’s special teams didn’t disappoint with one TD. Philly also allowed a good deal of yardage through the air. Idaho won the regular season game between the Rex and Birds.

#3 Detroit Revolvers at #2 Steel City Sentinels (21-17, Revolvers)
Steel City overcame their 2 INT’s with a dominating defensive performance, allowing only one TD in the 4th quarter once the game was well in hand. They used a very balanced offensive attack and killed Brooklyn’s drives all games long. POTG was probably their kicker who nailed 5 of 5 in the W. Detroit went up 24-7 in the first half of their W vs. the Ice and never looked back. Detroit utilized their 2 man RB system very well and their TE was running free through the secondary for most of the game. The Revolvers won the regular season matchup with the Sentinels in a GOTY nominee.
