Munich, Germany is not the first place you would think of when it comes to American style football. But a scrappy team of up and coming players is looking to change that, one game at a time.
The Munich Bayou Bengals are actively recruiting talented football players who are committed to improvement, their team, and winning championships. This fledgling franchise has started their initial schedule 1-1, but are constantly looking to add new faces everyday in order to rouse the people of Munich and generate the kind of support it will eventually take for the Bayou Bengals to be considered a football power.
We spoke with Munich team owner Brian Norton about his franchise, and his philosophy for taking this team to the top of the football world.
"You surround yourself with excellence. That's my philosophy. Our coaching staff, our front office, our financial people, marketing...., everyone is completely committed to making this franchise the very best it can be. Now we are looking to add players to our existing core that share that same committment. It's not a matter of if we will be winners. It's just a matter of when."
That same confidence and enthusiasm seems to be shared by the entire closeknit Munich organization. This is a team to keep an eye on. And that players who want to win will be drawn to. I have come to share the opinion of the owner, that it's just a matter of time until the entire football world knows about the Munich Bayou Bengals.
