I'm thinking about switching my equipment around on a DT, but its way too expensive to just experiment with, so it would be a final decision.

Are there any DTs out there with say, 90+ speed, 70 strength, 70 agility? And if so, how effective are they? Even if you don't have a high speed guy, what do you think about the idea?

I'm thinking Warren Sapp.

My opinion is that is doesn't matter how fast you run into the G if you never get by him. I don't think a 70 str/70 agi DT would be able to get past a G.

Even with an evasive setting?

You'd evade right into the tackle. Or around the tackle and take the entire play to get to the backfield, where the guard will meet you.

If you went evasive and ran into the tackle, you'd either open up a path for the DE by occupying the OT, the OT would already be engaged with the DE and you'd blow by him, or the OT'd be stuck double teaming a DT and DE. Or, you might hit the hole between the tackle and the G, or beween the G and the C. Plus, 70 strength probably won't affect a G, but it might be enough to get past a tackle.

Bouncing into the tackle doesn't help. Strength differential isn't what gets you by an OLineman anyway.

Just sharing what I know to work ok, my DT is 100+ agi 70+ str and 60+ speed right now.

Whats his vision and SB look like? My DT has a very similar build with 110+ agili 70+strength 60+speed (69 with VA) all equip is in agility and he is having the worst season in his career so far.

Hes only sitting at 41 vision and im thinking that could be the issue. Add in the fact he only has 20 jumping which could also play a factor in getting sacks from hurries but even his hurries have seen a steep decline.

49 vision/4 SB, it could be your tactics.

Don't let people shoot down your idea. Do it be a pioneer. It will probably work. And you can be the first person to do it. Unless someone else isnt already slow building one right now, and he's almost ready to show the world.
