Making this LBer into an absolute speed demon.

I want speed near the 100s and agility as close as possible to that

Does anyone have any suggestions?, should I hurry up and soft cap speed/agility or should i hold my SPs and reap the training bonuses?

It would be hard to do since linebackers need vision str and tackling to be effective. you would basically run into the back of your own players or into blocks, really fast.

If you want speed in the 100's i would save SP's till you can bring it to the 68 cap. Then do the same with agility. put all equipment into speed and worry about the rest of your stats much further down the road

That's exactly my thoughts, everyone of my players, I have built to just be able to be competitive at their level, I want to make a player that has something special about them for once, I don't plan on him being effective until very late in his career

You should do the math to check, there's benefit to getting the attribute to 48 early, the autolevel gains are basically worth twice as much in that case.

It could work. Just keep pumping SPs into speed and agility and get everything else up through training.

Of course, I'd only want that LB in to pass rush, but he'd be damn good at doing so, so it could be useful with the right defense.

^not really, my teams LBers (oceania A) all have 90+ speed with 60+ agi/vis, capped str/tackling, so it is very much in the realm of possibility to get 100+ speed and still be a good LBer

Fair enough.

But with 100 speed, I'd want him to have at least 75 agility. He'd be a beast pass rushing.

wouldnt it be easier to make a CB, since they get speed as a major and SAs that matter? then just run defense formations with 1 more CB than you normally would and blitz that cb? like if you would normally do 3-4 with the blitzing LB, switch to 3-3-5 and put your CB on 100% blitz

Don't think that speed is a major attribute for LBers, so you won't get the level gains

that is real vulnerable to the run though.

What the hell are you talking about? To save that many SP's you would have to wait till he's at least in his late teens before applying a single point.

It would be easier to use a DE. I'm starting something similar, a LB who has massive speed and agility. The OOP penalty from DE to OLB is supposedly very small, and they have speed, agility, strength, and tackling as major skills. Not to mention the clear superiority in terms of pass rushing SAs. Seems like the obvious choice for making a fast as hell LB.

You could do it with a natural LB, but using a DE would be much easier. I'm sure there have been several people who have done it before...maybe they can shed some light on how well it's worked for them.
