Anyone really compared these two? Which is best to use, against real competition, and what plays into that decision? SPeed, Agility? Catching? Any advice from anyone?

Sorry if this has been discussed, but just didn't see a post about it recently.

Good question. I'm also wondering if teams scheme to try to get the opponents to throw at a particular CB. Has anyone experimented with setting the better CB at medium coverage, and the lesser CB at close to bait the QB to throw at the better CB, and if so, has it been successful?

My CB is usually ~10 levels lower than the WRs I'm facing, so I kept my coverage on far and loose. We were facing a slowbuilding team, so I changed my tactic to medium and aggressive. I forgot to change it back for my last game where we played a team better than ours. I got my first pick of the game, and had a few key pass deflections. I gave up a few catches, but nothing more than what I would ordinarily give up. I basically ONLY have speed right now, but my CB is playing pretty well. I think aggressive can work.

(Keep in mind, it was just one game so that's a ridiculously small sample size)

Against really elite WRs you should go with Semi-Aggressive, but unless you are giving up 6+ levels and are guarding a really stud WR, go with Aggressive and Close every time.

semi is the best imo...by far
now that agrgessive is supposedly fixed, it shouldnt be such a bad option but the semi-aggressive still better IMO

I'm really surprised this hasn't been broken down more analytically by one of the CB builders on here.

It's kind of hard to judge effectiveness when you're going up against different opponents each week. Maybe if someone had the resources to schedule a bunch of friendlies with the same team and same game plans and tested each setting to gauge the success of each, we could have some more definitive proof.

against equal competition it's probably better to play semi aggressive for pass deflections.
if you go aggressive and miss that could be costly.

ANd if you play medium coverage against equal or better competition you will get permanently owned on short to medium routes all game.

Edit: Bort changed Aggressive. I will be playing aggressive from here on out, I was waiting for him to make aggressive still go for P.D.'s so really no reason not to play aggressive now. Unless you find out it sucks.

edited.
