Forum > Goal Line Blitz > Position Talk > AE Question for a WR
Link

Was going to post this in the wr forum, but the question involves sa's that wr don't naturally have. I have a receiver (J. Kruk) that is strength based. Have been shopping for a while, looking for a piece that would have some kind of break tackle opportunity. This past refresh, gave me a +1 stiff arm and a +1 powerthrough. Basically wondering which one would be better for him. The stiff arm says it is good against defenders w/ low strengh and agility. Alot of cb's have low strength but pretty good agility so would it not be affective? Then the powerthrough says that you need good strength and size and my receiver is 6'4" 182 pounds so would the strength overcome my lack of strength?

With Power Through, you need actual strength, and not just size/weight. Stiff Arm might be a decent choice if you're a possession built for yards after catch, but it's better to find something help you make the catch in the first place.

I actually have second capped strength. Would that be enough? Don't plan on putting any more points in there for a while.

While your strength might be enough to trigger, I think the problem is that you'll never get the SA high enough to be worth it. I'm of the camp that you need to get an SA up into the 8-10 range to have it be really effective (and have the necessary raw attribute it uses). Since you'll never be able to put any FP into either SA, you'll have 1 (then 2, then 3) in the SA, which is essentially worthless. That's my take.

In general, people seem to waste way too much time and energy on "out of position" SAs, when they should be putting it all into the stuff that actually makes a difference.
