1. Green Bay Maulers (9-1)
Prev. - same
Last game - Lost to Shockers 37-30
A tough loss to the Shockers doesn't lower them in the rankings in my view having already defeated O head to head. I still think they are the team to beat in the East, although they will need to start putting more pressure on the QB especially in the playoffs. They sacked Cincy only once and had no hurries. The Rage are up next, a very dangerous team that just beat the Shockers themselves. There are some interesting upset possibilities on the back end of the schedule for the Maulers, but they will likely go 15-1 into the playoffs.
2. ***O*** (9-1)
Prev. - same
Last game - Defeated Continentals 49-20
Gave up only 200 yards of offense to the Continentals and dominated both sides of the ball. Back to back tough games vs. the Pirates and Kzoo up next as they attempt to steal the #1 seed.
3. Cincinnati Shockers (8-2)
Prev. - 4 (+1)
Last game - Defeated Maulers 37-30
I don't think anyone is "Shocked" the Shockers beat the Maulers, but it is a little surprising they were able to put up 37 against their defense. They did it by keeping their QB clean and completing 80% of their passes. A perfectly executed game plan. The Shockers have a very favorable back end schedule as they try and hold onto a home playoff game seed.
4. Washington Bullets (8-2)
Prev. - 3 (-1)
Last game - Defeated Pirates 44-24
No offense to the Bullets, but the Shockers victory must be given weight. Once again, the Bullets use their ground game to pummel their opponent. If teams don't start stopping their run, they will remain a very dangerous team. Still has a relatively tough schedule coming up, including Kzoo next week.
5t. Kalamazoo Coyotes (7-3)
Prev. - same
Last game - Defeated Gamblers 13-6
A defensive battle throughout, with the Yotes winning it on a long TD run late in the 4th.
5t. Las Vegas Flyin' Elvises (7-3)
Prev. - 7 (+2)
Last game - Defeated Pushovers 255-0
They get another tuneup next week vs. the CPU Sin before the Shockers game that may determine a home playoff game.
7. Detroit Demon Lions (6-4)
Prev. - 10 (+3)
Last game - Defeated Rage 52-19
From the where are they now files, DDL crushes the Rage by getting 11 hurries and 3 each sacks and INTs vs. the Rage. Gets RIRW next, another dangerous offensive team in a game that will likely have playoff implications for the winner.
8. Orlando Pirates (6-4)
Prev. - 6 (-2)
Last game - Lost to Bullets 44-24
3 losses in the row for the Pirates, who are reeling right now. Were run over by the Bullets. It doesn't get any easier next week against O, but a win would certainly change their fortunes going forward.
9. Rhode Island Red Wolves (5-5)
Prev. - 11 (+2)
Last game - Defeated MadCats 44-19
Displayed a nice balanced attack vs. KY. Up next is DDL with definite playoff implications for the Wolves.
10. Gridiron Rage (5-5)
Prev. - 9 (-1)
Last game - Lost to DDL 52-19
Couldn't capitalize on their defeat of the Shockers last week and fell far short vs. DDL. The offense couldn't protect Gallo and he didn't help himself much either. Still has four likely playoff teams left on its schedule, including the Maulers next week.
11. Las Vegas Gamblers (4-6)
Prev. - 11 (same)
Last game - Lost to Kzoo 13-6
Fought the good fight vs. Kzoo but couldn't score when it needed to. The Gamblers have an outside shot at the playoffs, but need to win some games, starting with KY next week.
12. Philadelphia Continentals (1-9)
Prev. - 12 (same)
Last game - Lost to Bullets 49-20
Back to back games in which their offense put up only 200 yards. Two gutjobs are up next.
13. Kentucky MadCats (1-9)
Prev. - 13 (same)
Last game - Lost to RIRW 44-19
Only win this season is vs. a CPU team. Gets a chance to prove themselves vs. the Gamblers next week.
The Rest
14. Philadelphia Pushovers
15. Doomsday Sin
16. Arizona Termites
Prev. - same
