So, I'm planning to make a halfback next season, slowbuild him, and make the complete balanced back. 68 strength, 68 speed, 68 agility. Has anyone had success with that sort of build? My math say that he'll be level 34, day 1 of season 5 when this happens. Thoughts?

I'd like to think that sort of back would work...but sadly I think not so much in GLB. The strength you have would be not good enough to break lots of tackles, so would be somewhat of a waste. The speed is not enough to beat most linebackers/defensive backs and the agility not enough to juke them silly. It's a shame, but I think that's the way it works at the moment.
Who knows though, by the time he hits his potential things may have changed and he will dominate
Good luck to you - we need players like these experimenting with different builds.

68 by itself isn't enough to be the best in any one attribute...but my thinking make him complete balance, then put all EQ in strength. Level 32s + CE = 26 points, so I'll have 94 speed at times, 94 strength at times, often somewhere in the middle, and screw around plenty with SAs from both trees. The 94 I think should be enough to beat the "wrong" types of player.

That is pretty much the same thing DMP is, of course if you add in equipment and VA it changes up the numbers some.

Oh right I see now yeah that seems interesting.

I had success with a balance back.

I just focused on Speed and Agi, Then i slowly got str up. Start out as a Elusive back while training Str, then when speed and Agi is capped, start putting SP in str until that's capped, But always keep speed and Agi Over str.
Sadly i got the hell gutted out of me in mid season and couldn't sign with another team

Had the speed to break out and can occasionally break tackles in the open field

To take advantage of bruiser you would have to run on 50% power, and to take advantage of Slippery you would have to run on 50% elusive. If you want to be all around you really cant get both, unless you really want to hinder your build for a few more seasons.
So if we take out those 2 VA's you can still get the ones that increase speed/strength/agility. Flip your equipment depending on how you want to run. You will be good at power, good at elusive but great at neither.
I had the same problem and had to make a choice which path I wanted to go.
I'm not saying it cant be done, im just saying you will never be as good as a true power back, and never as good as a true elusive back.

The VA thing I realized a little while ago, that does take out two good ones, and since I'll have 3 attributes very high, it'll be a tough call on which 1% VA I want first.
While I'll never be as good as a true power back at power running, and never as good as an elusive back at being elusive, I wouldn't necesserially say that this yet to be rolled player will be worse than them, because he could use power on speedy defenders and outrun strong ones (not sure if which part of this sentence you were implying). Its something for me to debate for the rest of the season, and talk to more with the owner once we get some more planning down.

You will be good, just not able to use everything that either one can use in its own right.
The one nice thing though is each season Bort seems to nerf one of the other, and at least you can run the style that currently is working

That's pretty much my build only with a little less speed/agility and a little more strength. It's worked out pretty well for me, 5.7 career ypc average, he'll top 10,000 yards this season, and is on pace for his 2nd consecutive 2000+ yard season playing in extremely competitive leagues from the get-go (mostly Pro leagues, never lower than AAA)
