I figured I would give this a shot since the Eastern Conference has its predictions done regularly.
Sacramento SS Psychos (6-0) vs. Atlanta Dirtybirds (6-0)
A showdown of the two remaining undefeated WC teams looks to be a great matchup. The matchup that will determine this game is the Atlanta offense against the Sacramento defense. Sacramento is allowing under 6 points a game with 3 shutouts, as well as a killer 2.1 yards per play. Atlanta will need its 5th ranked passing attack to come through and put points on the board for them.
Prediction: Sacramento 21, Atlanta 17
Portland Aftershocks (5-1) vs. Seattle Fish n Chips (5-1)
In another great matchup, two of the three remaining 5-1 WC teams square off. Dallas will need to figure out how to stop Portland's balanced offense while, at the same time, making sure Portland doesn't turn them into a one-dimensional team. Points will not be easy to come by, as both teams are allowing under 8 points a game heading into today and a combined 7 shutouts.
Prediction: Portland 16, Seattle 10
Louisiana Ragin Cajuns (5-1) vs. Gotham City Punishers (2-4)
In the third match of the day, the Ragin Cajuns take on a Punishers team that has won 2 of its last 3 outings. The Cajuns appear to be a far superior team to the Punishers. Louisiana will need their defense to play like it has the last 3 games (14 points allowed) as opposed to the first 3 games (86 points allowed), to keep Gotham City (45 points scored in last 3 games) at bay.
Prediction: Louisiana 23, Gotham City 7
Dallas Longhorns (4-2) vs. St. Paul Shockers (1-5)
The Longhorns go up against a St. Paul team that is on the ropes, having lost their last four outings. The Shockers will need to rein their defense in to keep this game from getting out of hand, as they are 27th in points allowed while giving up 4.3 yards a play. Dallas will need its offense to step up and improve on its 16.8 points scored per game average.
Prediction: Dallas 24, St. Paul 10
Riverside Revolution (3-3) vs. Coruscant Death Stars (3-3)
In a matchup of two teams headed in the wrong direction, something's got to give. These teams are about as evenly matched as you can get in passing offense, rushing offense, yards per play, record, you name it. The team that jumps out to an early lead should be able to ride the increase in morale to a much needed, slump busting victory.
Prediction: Riverside 6, Coruscant 14
Fort Worth Red Raiders (3-3) vs. Montana Carnage (2-4)
The Red Raiders take on a Carnage team that some consider to be much better than their record indicates. Fort Worth must depend on their 18th ranked defense to hold the Carnage's 8th ranked scoring offense in line. The Carnage are averaging almost 24 points a game and also possess the 8th ranked passing attack, and are also one of only 6 teams to net more than 4 yards per play.
Prediction: Fort Worth 17, Montana 20
Mid-Pac Warriors (1-5) vs. Minnesota Lumberjacks (1-5)
The Warriors hope to stop their 4 game skid against the Lumberjacks, who just recorded a notch in the win column last week. The Warriors defense is a huge liability for them, as they are last in points allowed (34.5 per game), last in passing defense (250 yards/game), and 29th in rushing defense (197 yards/game). The Lumberjacks will need continued production from their offense, which has scored 28 of its 42 points in its last two outings.
Prediction: Mid-Pac 14, Minnesota 21
Houston Wave (0-6) vs. San Francisco Hawks (1-5)
Our last matchup features the bottom two teams in the WC. Both teams are fairly even when comparing the matchups, but San Francisco's offense has gone into hibernation the past couple of weeks. Meanwhile, Houston has scored in every game, a respectable feat for a team still looking for that first win. Look for San Francisco to try and exploit Houston's passing defense, which ranks 16th in the league, and is the one significant advantage they have over the Wave.
Prediction: Houston 16, San Francisco 14
