I'm going to create 7 punters and follow the following strategy:

Only train and put points in one attribute:
Strength, Agility, Speed, Jumping, Vision, Confidence, or Punting.

I realize this may be a sub-par training strategy, but I'd like to speed up the process and just normal train them and get things up fast.

I'll try to get as close to the same starting build as I can. I'll then consider using a few points on each build to make them all exactly the same to start.

I realize that leveling evenly will be near impossible in the d-leagues, as will be getting a team to punt on later. I'll sign/cut them on my own team to get them in the dleagues at level 7+900XP to totally exhaust their welcome though.

What I hope to accomplish:

Decide which minors impact punting quality the most
Completely deduce the formula for the punting and overall bars

Going into season 9 I'll inevitably retire these players, but I think having 70+ agility, speed, jumping, etc., will be more than enough to make conclusions from, don't you?

This will miss any possible interactions between SAs and abilities, or dependence of abilities, but that size of a project my flex-roll simply can't fund!

Alright, all have 20/20 major, 10s in the minors, and 9 in the otherwise, and 10 SP to spend.

I'll be tracking exactly when their bars move, their distance of non touchback/out of bounds punts by level, percentage of touchbacks inside the 40 by level and percentage of out of bounds punts within the 50 as well as their distances.

By the end of next season I should be able to make some very conclusive results on a data set hopefully this large - next step is finding them all dleague teams to actually punt on (yikes....)

LOL, I started this several days ago with three punters, Str/Con/Pun. Trouble is only one of them is actually punting. Will you be able to make sure they all get starting spots and plenty of punts?

Trick is to keep rejecting d-league offers until you get a starting spot.
Or, check when the current punter's contract expires. I'll take the offer if he'll be off the team within a week.

Good idea. But now since you're going to do it I can just retire mine. That worked out pretty well for me

Will do! I'll post excessively in this topic as a log for myself.

I got 4 of them starting positions. 2 are lined up for day 16 and day 18 respectively to become starters. The other I had nothing worth accepting, so we'll see after rollover if he can get a job.

At level 6, I'll sign them to my team to 10 day contracts, let their contracts run out, and grab another d-league run to max out their stay, they should be able to get up to about level 15 with the crazy new punter XP gains, which is plenty of XP to get meaningful results.

I have a strong feeling that agility does more than people assume. This is a pretty good way to find out. Thanks for doing this!
