It seems with every position there are SAs that everyone agrees are great and others everyone says to stay away from. For example, route run is a great one for receiving TEs.

Are there any universally agreed great ones for LBs?

No, LB SAs aren't good in my opinion. Apart from my now retired experimental LBs I haaven't put any points into SAs for my LBs.

quite frankly i dont know if i would ever put any points into SAs for a linebacker, unless youre an MLB, then DGeneral is valuable.

Shed block is useful if you blitz a lot.
Aura has its fans, I plan on playing with it around level 35.
General is a must for MLBs.
Swat and dive would be good, if they were at the begining of trees, or at least before something useful.

Monster hit is more useful now that they are tracking when it triggers. diving tackle, shed block and swat are useful, but not worth more than a few points.

So my experiment to boost confidence reliant SAs hasn't proved very worthwhile thus far. Right now, my confidence is only in the low 30s.

Im building a LB to replace my season 1 guy with no SA's. Except of course the SA's from custom EQ.

I find that Big Hit is triggered quite a bit, but my MLB tends to get a good number of tackles a game. He has about 6 points each in snarl and aura, but tbh I don't know if they work much.

How about First Step? I just rolled a +2 agility +1 First Step on my LB.

Rocksolid piece for a blitzing LB, but not so much for one in coverage or an ILB.

first step is great for coverage. I still don't know why people think it isn't.

it must be an overall consensus gathered from one guy who has first step like 2, and said it sucked.

I just don't think it's as good in coverage unless you sell out to become a PD/int LB and use First Step to try to break on the ball faster (the emphasis on jumping/catching means other attributes are weakened). Otherwise, your LB should be near or on top of the TE/WR throughout the route, limiting FS's effectiveness. I think something like Change Direction or Quick Cut would be far more useful for a coverage LB for a non-native LB SA.

I'm built as a coverage LB and my DC has me blitzing, so I guess its a good grab.

For blitzing linebackers diving tackle and shed block

for coverage linebacker swat ball and diving tackle.

for roaming linebackers Diving tackle shed block and swat ball.
