Okay, these new teams are absolutely driving me nuts...And who ever thought that a CPU team could beat a human owned team? I only went .500 in week 4...Hopefully this week goes better...
Week 4: 4-4
Overall: 17-7
No in-depth re-hash of week 4...Instead, we're just going to jump right in to week 6...
Frostburg Bobcats (3-2) vs. Minnesota Paladins (0-5)--Frostburg has 2 out of their 3 nasty games this season out of the way in the first 5 weeks...Minnesota proved that winning is easy enough that even a Caveman can do it in week 4, losing to the CPU controlled Cavemen...I think that should be enough to warrant a game misconduct ejection for the Paladins (I'm still stuck a bit in hockey mode I guess...Frostburg 100-Minnesota 3
Richmond Empire (4-1) vs. Baton Rouge Bayou Bengals (1-4)--Richmond is slowly becoming the 800 lb. elephant in the room...Noone really notices it or wants to talk about it, but they're surely there...After long having been the doormat of "Da 7", they're establishing themselves as the best of the rest in terms of relevance...Baton Rouge was once a proud team, but they're just taking up space here now...Their lone win this season came against Texas Tech...This will be akin to a junior hockey team jumping up against the Red Wings...Richmond 145-Baton Rouge 9
Texas Tech Big Red Spread (0-5) vs. Lincoln Freedom Warriors (4-1)--Texas Tech has one player on their team that could even warrant a spot on the Freedom Warriors and that would be their QB...However, that talent is going to waste when he's throwing to a level 17 and level 10 WR...When you combine Perrier and ditch weed, you're not going to get Lipton Iced Tea...Lincoln rebounded big time from their OT loss against Houston by thoroughly dismantling Frostburg with surgical precision...This is another ugly matchup...Lincoln 187-Texas Tech 7
Antarctica Cavemen (1-4) vs. Delray Manatees (2-3)--A game that will draw about as much attention as the NHL All-Star game pits the Cavemen, who got a win that was about as ugly as some of their cheerleaders going against a team that has only beaten on two of the Texas teams...I'm not really going to talk about this game merely being for pride...Delray finally gets a win against a non-Texas team by icing the Cavemen who thought they might be de-frosting after their win...Delray 48-Antarctica 17
Texas Presidents (3-2) vs. Torrington Wildcats (4-1)--Both of these teams have lost to Deimon, but that's nothing to be ashamed of, as Deimon's only losses this year have come against some of the best teams remaining in Da 7...Texas' other loss was a bit of an embarassing one against the Manatees, but since then they've gone on a recruiting spree that would make a certain Freedom Writer clap his hands...I have a feeling that these two teams will have even records after this week...Texas 42-Torrington 34
State of Texas Domination (1-4) vs. Killian's Irish Red (2-3)--Killian's was turning heads early this season by starting off 2-0, having beaten Baton Rouge, but since then, the taste has become very skunked in the Freedom Writers taste...The once unstoppable Domination have become nothing more than a small bump in the road that is Da 7...After going on a 3 game losing skid, Killian's gets back on the road after drinking some coffee and taking a cold shower...Killian's 56-State of Texas 24
Alamo City Souljahs (3-2) vs. Deimon Devil Bats (3-2)--Easily the second best game of the week, and it will have huge playoff seeding implications...With 4 teams knotted up at 3-2 right now, along with Texas and Frostburg having relatively easy games this week, this could leave one team with a chance of staying home for the playoffs...Both of these teams are very evenly matched, which makes it tough for me to pick...I have to give the edge to Jimo, mostly because he invited me to his "Green Room" recently...Alamo City 45-Deimon 41
GAME OF THE WEEK: Houston Armageddon (5-0) vs. Jax Beach Juggernauts (5-0)--What can you say about this game? #1 vs #2...Houston knocked off a gritty Freedom Warrior team in OT by letting Wickey Woods run wild...Jax Beach's signature win so far this year is against Alamo City, and they won that one by 5 TD's...Jax Beach makes their money through the air, while Houston makes their living by the ground...The big question is, which team is going to step up on the defensive side of the ball...Some may call me crazy, but this game could go to OT like the Houston vs. Lincoln game...I have to give the edge to Houston because they have been in a battle this year and been tested...Houston 44-Jax Beach 41 (OT)
There you guys have it...Another week, another Scrolls to peruse...I just hope I do better this week than week 4...
