say you have 100 speed and the other player has 60 speed. then you're way way faster than him. you crank that up to 105, what's the difference? you're now 5 faster than him, when the gap is as wide as possible. as a result, going to 105 is useless.
the punting stat helps determine the perfect punt as well as helping decide how off you are from that perfect punt. after 100, the question is: how much more perfect and how much more consistent can I get my punt to be? WIll it stop at 100? Do I now require other skills to make that perfect punt more consistent (lessening "how off you are from that perfect punt")? Painmaker has an example
