How the West was Won - Week Six

Well, couldn't get them all right every week. OK, it's the weekend (and NFL Playoff weekend at that), so this is pretty abridged. Let's get right down to it.

As always, these are in fun; don't take offense if I rip on your team. OK, here we go, working from the top down:

GAME OF THE WE...JUST KIDDING: #8 Baton Rouge Buccaneers vs #1 Big Whiskey Assassins, at Wu Tang Arena: Both teams are coming off what amounted to bye weeks in week 5. Baton Rouge broke Nashville's guitars and drunk rum from them, while Big Whiskey shot down the Chaos.

Baton Rouge loves their rum. They aren't ready, though, to move up to Whiskey. The Assassins pull a drive-by on the Pirate Ship 63-10. Cheer up, though, Bucs, at least you'll get a movie about you. They'll call you the Notorious B.R.B.

GAME OF THE WEEK: #3 INYA ONYA vs #2 Phoenix Scorpions, at Scorpions Burrow: Like the previous game, both teams gorged on rebuilding teams. INYA ONYA BROKEYA the Paraplegics' WHEELCHAIRSYA, while Phoenix kidnapped Seattle's team and dropped them off in Oklahoma City.

You could almost flip a coin on this one, folks. Two undefeated high-powered teams. Will INYA ONYA shut down the Scorpions' offense enough to secure a win in this classic? I vote NOYA. I'm taking Phoenix in a close, 31-28 game.

#4 Oregon Orangutans vs #10 Gardner Paraplegics, at Cripple Colisseum: Oregon threw crap on Bunghole's...ugh, you can finish that one. Gardner got CRUSHEDYA as described above.

One of these days, the Paraplegics will actually find the wheelchair access to their stadium so they can show up. It won't be this week though. Oregon O., 81-21.

#7 Oregon Lumberjacks vs #5 Big Money Dynasty, at il Colosseo: Oregon fought hard in a close loss to Lexington. Big Money...what they did last week...oh my god...the humanity...holy $$$$.

Obviously, the Dynasty's not going to duplicate their last performance anytime soon, but I think they'll come out victorious in another hard-fought game against a team that plays better than their record shows. Big Money 17-14.

#14 Seattle Grand Cru vs #6 Lexington Lynx, at The Lynx Lair: Seattle...well, can be glad they don't play Phoenix again this season. Lexington survived a tough challange from the Paul Bunyan Boys.

Not much to say about this one. Lexington grounds the Cru into Sausage...well, Lynx. Lexington 69-3.

#9 Wellsboro Crawling Chaos vs #13 Wolverhampton Wolverines: Wellsboro got blurry vision just being around Big Whiskey. Wolverhampton...well...WOLVERINES!

OK, I give up. I pick Wolverhampton to win and they lose. I pick them to lose and they win. They alone are responsible for half my wrong calls for the entire year. So now I'm picking them to tie, just to see what they do. Just kidding. I'm taking Wellsboro to win this one. Enjoy the win over Lubbock while you've got it, Wolverines. Wellsboro 31-21.

#16 Lubbock Red Raiders vs #11 Bunghole Liquors, at Brownspot Stadium: Lubbock made me look like a complete fool in the blowout loss to Wolverhampton. Bunghole, well, at least their loss I called correctly.

Team Automatic Loss makes their visit to Brownspot Stadium this week. They're leaving with skidmarks. Bunghole 84-10.

GAME OF THE WEAK: #15 Pittstown Pirate Hookers vs #12 Nashville Isotopes, at Renaissance Stadium: After what happened to Pittstown last week at the hands of Big Money, the Hookers need a whole carton of cigarettes. Nashville is coming off their weekly loss, this time to the Buccaneers.

These teams have a whopping one win between them. The Isotopes are playing for virtual pride this week, after watching their NFL Titans get upset this past weekend. They take it out on the Hookers this week. Nashville 41-20.

Last week's record: 7-1
Season Record: 28-4

Pick: Big Whiskey 51, Wellsboro 6; Actual: Big Whiskey 121, Wellsboro 7
Pick: INYA ONYA 41, Gardner 27; Actual: INYA ONYA 91, Gardner 9
Pick: Phoenix 106, Seattle 14; Actual: Phoenix 185, Seattle 7
Pick: Oregon O. 51, Bunghole 17; Actual: Oregon O. 87, Bunghole 10
Pick: Big Money 87, Pittstown 10; Actual: Big Money 209, Pittstown 13
Pick: Lexington 41, Oregon L. 20; Actual: Lexington 21, Oregon L. 7
Pick: Baton Rouge 71, Nashville 10; Actual: Baton Rouge 100, Nashville 13
Pick: Lubbock 7, Wolverhampton -3; Actual: Wolverhampton 67, Lubbock 3

Right team at least, just a bit off on the score.

Well, I usually will be off on the score, I tend to undersell it. I don't like to make predictions of like 100+ point beatings; I do have to play these teams myself, you know. I normally just pick a winner and then throw darts at a board or something to get the scores. You guys can tell when it should be a blowout or a close game, I have faith. (Well, ok, I had Faith last week. This week it's Joy. Next week it will be Heather. Or maybe Mary. ) But yeah, you guys won by much more than I thought you guys would, to be honest. Good job.

By the way, good game to INYA ONYA, I took Phoenix in a literal coin flip (as in, I flipped a quarter at my desk), and apparently I lost the toss. Congrats.
