This post is not meant to bash the highlanders. It was a great win no doubt. I'd just like to point out the end of the game sequence, namely the time between plays.
1:49 3rd & 6 OPP 46.5 Taiwan Blood Pandas calls timeout Replay
1:49 4th & 1.5 OPP 42 Joe Schmoe rush to the right (8.5 yd gain) [tackle: Jackson Fredrick] Replay
1:01 1st & 10 OPP 33.5 Joe Schmoe rush to the left (11.5 yd gain) [tackle: E J] Replay
0:13 1st & 10 OPP 22 Joe Schmoe rush to the left (12 yd gain) [tackle: E J]
1:49 to 1:01 = 48 seconds. I thought there was a 40 second play clock?
1:01 to 0:13 = 48 seconds. See above.
There should've been enough time to run at minimum 1 more play without having to call another timoeut (since the pandas were out of them). With the way the Pandas were driving with momentum, who knows how the game could've ended. I'd like to point out that I don't see it as coincidence that the three plays were all 48 seconds apart, I don't think it would be that hard to program the code to run a play before the 40 second play clock expires. Again though this is not a dig against the highlanders! I just didn't know if people noticed this besides me.

I posted this in another thread for the end of half sequence in a game we lost by 1:
0:37 1st & 10 OPP 46 Chris Caulfield pass to Marshawn Rolle up the right side (21.5 yd gain)
0:33 1st & 10 OPP 46 Lost City Idols calls timeout
0:33 1st & 10 OPP 24.5 Chris Caulfield pass to Flynn Flash up the left side (incomplete)
0:30 2nd & 10 OPP 24.5 Chris Caulfield pass to Marshawn Rolle up the right side (incomplete)
0:26 3rd & 10 OPP 24.5 Chris Caulfield pass to Marshawn Rolle up the right side (9.5 yd gain)
[half ends]
A 21.5 yard completion take 4 seconds. Yet, with 2 TOs left, a 9.5 yards gain take 26 seconds. Bort seems to have a lot of variability. I can't ever remember a 9 yard pass taking 26 seconds to run when a team had 2 timeouts left. You'd literally have your QB dancing in the pocket for 10 seconds, throwing the pass and having the TE stand in place for another 10 seconds while being tackled. And it's not like any time ticked off before the play as it was an incomplete pass.

Good observation. Who knows, things are different in GLB land?

Certainly did not take that as anti Highlanders post at all, in fact if you were right then I think this needs to be changed. But I am a little confused at what you are saying.
Joe Schmoe is a Highlander, we had the ball and were running the clock out, if I had programmed it better we would have taken a knee, but instead just ran it out and took as much off the clock as possible, now 48 seconds is wrong I agree. It should be 40 seconds max, maybe it was the time taken during the play but 8 seconds is quite a long time for 10 yards I suppose. In this situation even if there was time for another play it would not have altered the result as we were on second down.
I get just as frustrated with this game when things go against me as the next guy and believe me over the last 2 seasons I think the Highlanders have had more than their fair share of questionable plays and game outcomes go against them. The game V the Toadfish was very hard for us to take, again no disrespect to them intended I am sure from their point of view it was just great play that won it for them, But from our perspective lets just say we were very annoyed and frustrated.
We have had to rebuild our entire O AI since that game as what worked during pre season no longer worked, and during the game V the Titans it was evident that the new AI was not working as intended but we got a break there as we could have lost that one but ended up doing just enough. However today it went well for us, tomorrow it will probably go against us. Look at the Seamen, they did not turn into a bad team over night, I think every team needs to get use to the fact that the way this game is headed surprise losses are going to happen, and I suggest that is just what Bort intends.
We have the upmost respect for most teams in this league, we know what it takes for 90% of us to get here in the first place and then to keep it going through FA and Borts changes is a real testament to the hard work and resolve shown. Having had players in most of the other Pro divisions over the last 6 seasons I can honestly say this is the best for competitiveness and for mature gaming, we have our jokers and that is great, but it rarely gets personal.

oh hell lol. yeah i made a semi-misinterpretation for some reason i thought the pandas had the ball and just ran out of time. so, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the game in retrospect, but that wasn't really my intention of the post. I just think that sometime in the near future that will come into play where a team will get jobbed, and bort should be able to control the clock mgmt for a team's 2:00 drill better. my mistake, but my original point about the clock is all i was really trying to convey.
