This happenned repeatedly in our last game. (here are just a few)

Its almost like the HB is aiming at the defenders on purpose, he almost avoids the hole like there is something wrong with it.

The HB in question is pure power. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=649464

Last season he averaged 7.8ypc but this season cant get going. He has high speed and decent agility but very low vision - which neither myself nor the agent ever thought was a problem for a power back.

Looking at those replays there is one of 2 things wrong. Using the Power slider at 100 causes the power back to see red or his vision doesnt actually let him spot the hole that is opening up.

Anyone else seen backs doing this or got any ideas?

Yes, my level 18 back is doing this all the time this season. he's a power too. But I'm not too worried about this because I'm playing on a league where the average level is about 10 higher than my player is (promotion last season... that sucked)
I would have a shot saying it's a confidence and vision problem, yet I don't know those stats on your build. Vision seems to be way more important than last season

On the first one, if he would have gone to the 2nd hole the ROLB would have got him for an even shorter gain or a loss.

3rd one, the guy got pancaked and he simply followed his blockers, that are slow as hell so he outran them into into the MLB. I I didn't really see anything wrong in those replays.

My HB does this occasionally but he has 99 strength so i could almost care less imo, it is a good point. maybe Bort will look into it. hey DWTFMY whats up?

I literally picked the first 3 runs of the game to put up there, he did it pretty consistantly the hole game. I watched some other footage of power backs and the reason they do so well is they hit the hole and avoid the D-Line and get inot the secondary who cant cope with them very well.

I agree that my FB is suffering a lack of pace...only soft capped it to get str and blocking up a bit when I repecced him to blocking. Am doing my best above that.

I think we have decided that its a vision issue, its his lowest useful attribute so we are working on that now.

I'm trying to find that sweet spot in the running style. This run was at -75

It was nice he didn't run straight into that DT, but I sure wish he'd have hit that gaping hole, instead of trying to take it outside completely.

We ran ours at -65 last game and he ran a lot better than at -100. We are working his vision up from the mid 20's now as after combined research have decided that is the problem.

I totally think it's vision, despite the fact that everyone seems to think that vision is worthless for a power back. Early in my power back's career, he did this. I made vision a priority for him and I haven't seen it happen since.

My guy's vision is 50 and I'm loving it. I'd much rather sacrifice some strength and have him run through the open holes, rather than plow into the line and have to break multiple tackles in order to get positive yardage.
