Anyone ever train jumping?

It's a minor attribute and I wondered what kind of affect getting it to 20 or 25 might have?

I started thinking about it during the offseason and now I have this desire to test it and see what happens.

Just wondered if anyone else had tried this yet?

If it has a minor effect when leveling(which it does) it does have an effect on the passing bar.

I trained up my speed/agility and I noticed that when my agility went up 1 from training that my QB's throwing bar went up. I've never thought about it before, but I bet it is a good idea to get itup to around 20

I think I am going to give it a try this for a couple of points at the end of this season or the beginning of next season unless someone else comes forward and says they have done it.

Curiosity killed my build.

Do not spend skill points. Just train it for the rest of the season and it should be around 20. Mine is naturally at 16.something right now. I'm going to train it up a bit.

Carrying/catching also goes up a bit with the auto level. I cannot see how catching would help a QB at all. Maybe it's similar to the D-line knowing how a blocker blocks so they are a little better?

I see throwing as %'s. This is not what I think, but just a quick little assessment

50% throwing
20% vision
15% strength
10% confidence
>5% speed/agility/jumping/carrying/catching

too many people are successful without spending any training points or sps on it, so I wouldn't bother with either.

I won't spend any SP on it, I've been around too long for that!

Maybe they would be better if they could jump!

I, for one, am willing to use my BU QB to find out!

Waste of training points.

I just trained up my agility up one point today and my throwing bar went up from 61 to 62. I'm assuming that if you trained it up to 20 or so it would have a minimal effect like I stated

Agility is nice on a QB. I dont think it helps pass quality directly as it allows the QB to move in the pocket and alleviate pressure.

I'm not sure you understand what I'm saying.

I don't know how Agility/speed/carrying/catching/jumping help a QB throw better, but it effects his throwing bar minimally.

That is why I think those 5 combined has a minimal effect(>5%)

I dont see how jumping would affect the throwing bar. IMO, just because it raises during natural level progression, doesn't mean it will increase a bar or make your player more effective. Take tackling, on OL builds for instance...

I think you said in another thread that people just put way too much thought into GLB builds. Jumping on a QB? Common sense would tell you it would do absolutely nothing to improve your QB unless you intended to build a scrambler.

Either way, a high throwing bar doesn't mean an effective build. It's so driven by the throwing attribute that it mainly just means the player has high throwing.

My thinking is jumping is a minor skill for QBs to help rushing QBs. Bort has said multiple times that jumping helps RBs lunge for extra yards while getting tackled.

The bigger question is, why is catching a minor skill for QBs. Has anyone seen a QB fumble a snap?

Yeah I saw it once.

It wouldn't have the player's name

I saw the Qb fumble while attempting a pass and getting hit by a DE and no name showed up in the play by play. I have still not seen a QB fumble a snap though especially in shotgun where it would be the logical need for catching.
