Are you able to change the direction of the running play, or do the left/right tactics just mean it will choose a play designed to the left or right?

For instance:

The only play that I have in my playbook for Weak I is a pitch to the right.
My basic settings are 50% left, 50% right.

If I call a pitch out of the Weak I, but tell it to use basic settings for direction, will it actually pitch the ball left sometimes and change the playcall, or will it only run the pitch right since that's the only available play?

im pretty sure it will run right since the formation only has a run side run.
i remember bort saying it doesnt just flip side.

You call the play by putting in left or right and there is only one Weak I pitch and it is to the Left so it will never go Right

Even moving the TE to the other side of the line negates him going into a route; he has to stay in to block at that point.
