I have a level 30 LB who I'm trying to build into a consistent fumble forcer. his build is a work in progress so I'm playing him in a lower level league. Even though he's playing with mostly level 25s to 31s, he's not forcing any fumbles despite laying monster hits on about 50% of his tackles.

Some of his fumble forcing attributes:

5 Points in "Monster Hit" SA
68 Tackling Rating
52 Strength Rating
+12% chance to force fumbles in VA Points (Power Tackler)
+9% chance to force fumbles in equipment
Always plays on "Power Tackling"

Through 3 games he has 15 tackles, no missed tackles, 3 Passes deflected, 3 tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery and 1 hurry but has not forced a fumble...

Has anybody else been pumping fumble forcing attributes with success or has this been nerfed too?

none of them were ever great to begin with, so I wouldn't say they were nerfed.

well, i guess not, but those game stats are decent regardless of the fumbles.

What's his speed?

Momentum is taken into account when forcing a fumble, which is why there are quite a few fumbles on special teams.

I have 2 Forced Fumbles in 3 Games along with 1 Forced Fumble in a few scrimmage games.

5 Points in Monster Hit
60 Strength
55 Tackling
15 Points in Power Tackler
75 Speed
75 Agility
40 Confidence
Power Tackling

I don't think it's nerfed. I just think FFum is so low to begin with that high multiplicative % EQ and VAs won't give it a high of a boost as you would think.

I'm starting to build a LB (just started) purposefully for this reason: To create fumbles.

Do I think it's going to work? Probably not. So far, my plan is to soft-cap STR, TAK, SPD, AGI, VIS, and CON (in that order, and yeah, that's going to take a while. My line of thought is that it probably takes a lot of the attributes in the math to increase the probability. Or I could be WAY off.

Since I'm just starting, if anyone has ideas, let me know. Because all of this is tentative right now and I won't be soft-capping anything for a while. (he's doing a one-season bundy build).

It's only at 48 with 49 agility. I was building him to stuff the run so I haven't really put any emphasis on speed. I'm going to start working on getting it to at least 65.

That's a nice looking build. I'm probably going to build my player more as a prototypical big man up the middle with more points in tackling and strength then speed and agility.

Regulars know that I'm anti-forced fumbling guy, but if there's any LB to watch, it's Zsirvone's. Zero missed tackles and 2 FFum so far on the season; that's the recipe to aim for. Note though that for a level 45 LB, he's "only" got 75/75 spd/agi and probably not too much in SA's in order to push his str/tckl higher to supplement his move to Power tackling. If you're going to build a "forced fumbler" LB, then his model looks like it may be the way to go. The jury is still out on whether or not it's worth it, but his is one to keep an eye out on.

If people really want to make these types of LB's, it looks like ILB/MLB might be the way to go since OLB will need more spd/agi for coverage duties. However, D-Gen is essentially out of the question since it's way too expensive to build up and keep all your other physical attributes at usable levels; make sure your DC isn't aiming for this skill on your player to prevent conflicts of interest.

Thanks for the props guys. I was one of the few LB builders who went 1:1 in regards of Speed to Agility from the beginning and it's paying off in huge dividends right now. I'm absolutely everywhere, shedding blocks like crazy, and causing fumbles. That's 2 Forced Fumbles in 4 games, I also have 1 or 2 in scrimmage games as well. One thing I noticed that people are writing off though, I HAVE gotten a forced fumble on Monster Hit. I don't really know the equation, but I'm going to be bumping up my Confidence here when I train. I'm hoping that's going to be a HUGE part of the equation as well.

speed is crucial to forced fumbles. imo the ROLB should be the fumble guy, with mlb heavy in d gen and lolb pass coverage and outside run containment.

This probably isn't that useful, but I have 5 forced fumbles this season, all on special teams.

9 Jackhammer (I didn't read it right, I should have gone with Power Tackler, but i figured I might as well get this high up too)
5 Monster Hit
51 Strength
67 Speed
61 Agility
49 Tackling

Anyways, this probably isn't valid since I think I got my FFum off of lower level players, but that's how my builds look.

* I was young and naive, so I put points everywhere, that's why the build looks like it is.

Umm. Yeah. I wouldn't get too enamored with your results quite yet, as you would need to face more equitable competition first:

01/02/2009 Kansas City Cougars W 255-0
01/04/2009 at San Antonio Gunslingers W 255-0
01/06/2009 Arrowhead Tomahawks W 58-0
01/08/2009 at Wigan Athletic FC W 65-17
01/10/2009 New Orleans Devils W 255-0
01/12/2009 at Death Valley Vikings W 146-7
