In the advanced equipment store, I have a piece of equipment with +1 Carry, Pass Distance +5%. This doesn't seem like a very good piece of equipment to me, but it is quite expensive. I was wondering what other QB's thought of this equipment. What would Pass Distance +5% do? Is this a substitute for strength?

from what i gather, strength isnt exactly the distance you can throw the ball, tho it does play some factor in that equation, but its the velocity of the ball for distance passes and how quick it gets there.

as far as that piece goes, i say junk it. i settled for a +5% pass quality piece that is now +2 throwing +9% pass quality. id say either get pass quality, or a good SA off the pocket passer tree like tight spiral or something.

That's what I was thinking as well. Who cares whether I can throw the ball 60 yards or 63 yards. If that is the only benefit, then I will junk it. It was just looking at the high price and thinking anything that expensive should be good.

I would think it would probably not just increase the max distance but also accuracy and quality on longer throws. I imagine that once you try a pass past your QB's range (STR+THR function prolly) your accuracy and pass quality decreases significantly, so the % bonus would add to your QB's "comfortable" yardage range and not just how many yards he can chuck the ball.

pure speculation of course, either way I would say hold out for a better piece
