1(1) - East St. Louis Tire Fires(2-0) - The Tire Fires started the season with the game of the week - a Super Wok VI rematch. What insued was a 48-19 undressing of the talented Blood Pandas infront of a sold out ESL crowd. The ESL offense looks incredible so far this season, led by former Bourbon Street Bully Riverboat Gambler. Gambler has give ESL a new swagger, and along with the other new faces have made ESL an even stronger and deeper squad.
Next week vs Tokyo Whalers - ESL in a landslide

2(2) - Manila Hitmen(2-0) - Manila has pulled out two tough wins, by 7 over the always dangerous Hot Mamas and a 6 point victory over the former AAA#2 Champ Lost City. Things don't get any easier this week as the Hitmen travel to Bangkok, to face perennial contender the Seamen. Following that, Manila(after a bye vs Phuket) has Singapore, Bandar, ESL and the Katanas during a make or break four week stretch.
Next week at Bangkok Seamen ***GAME OF THE WEEK*** - Manila won last season on a last second field goal, and has been playing better football this season. Manila squeaks out the road win

3(3) - Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates(2-0) - The Pirates only made a few offseason moves, but they made one major splash by adding superstar WR Sumerian Prophet. The Pirates team has one task and one task only this season - defeat the hated Tire Fires. This team has gone 32-3 over the past 2+ seasons against teams not from ESL. Taking down the team that has for 3 straight seasons eliminated them from the playoffs is the first step in claiming the title.
Next week vs Pa Dong Dragons - Pirates handle there business and defeat a good Dragons team

4(5) - Kamakura Katanas(2-0) - Ownership change or not, the Katanas have continued to do what they do best - win. They have started off with one of the easier opening schedules, and need to take full advantage of it. They squeaked out a nail biter vs the Traitors, and can't look past any of the other teams coming up before a showdown with Manila.
Next week vs P-Funk Allstars - Katanas

5(4) - Bangkok Seamen(1-1) - When the Bulls won on the last play vs the Seamen I was surprised. To see them almost drop another to the Penguins was shocking. The Seamen have one of the most talented rosters on paper, but haven't been the same for a few seasons now. Whatever the problem is, they need to find the answers soon.
Next week vs Manila Hitmen ***GAME OF THE WEEK***- Hitmen take a close one

6(6) - Singapore Marauders(1-1) - The Marauders lost a tough one late to the Pelicans, and edged out the Dragons with a come from behind win. The most surprising thing however is that Meth Head(1.7ypc) and Light Movement(.6ypc) have been completely eliminated from both games they played.
Next week vs Macau Gamblers -Singapore's backs spring back to life and run over the Gamblers for the win

7(7) - Lost City Idols(1-1) - They played Manila tough, and beat up on the Toadfish week 1. The Idols are in good position. They have two winnable games against the Gothic and Bulldogs, followed by a showdown with the Seamen. They then have the bye week and can be 5-1 and fighting for the number 1 spot as they enter the heart of the schedule.
Next week vs Chaiyaphum Gothic -Idols take it to a Gothic team that has stumbled out of the gate

8(8) - Krungthep Garudas(1-1) - The Garudas let the Katanas get away from them, and that loss might very well come back to haunt them later in the season. This is a team that must rely on tactics to win, and they made several critical errors that came back to bite them. I'm even more interested in seeing this teams ability now.
Next week vs Duluth Bulldogs - Bulldogs will come out hungrier and win out a close one.

9(10) - Pa Dong Dragons(1-1) - Tough loss to a very good Singapore team is impressive enough to move them up a spot. They completely shut down one of the best run games in SE Asia, and drove the field before allowing 2 sacks that killed any hopes. The next 3 games will define the Dragons season
Next week at Bandar Lampung Pigskin Pirates - You want instant respect? Beat Bandar. Unfortunately for them, they are running into some angry Pirates - Bandar by 10

10(13) - P-Funk Allstars(1-1) - Very impressive shutout win over the Bats, and they played ESL strong for 3 quarters before the game got out of hand. WR Sir Lollipop Man has been of fire - snagging 17 receptions for 336 yards and 2 scores so far in this young season.
Next week at Kamakura Katanas -Katanas prove to be too much for Allstars

11(9) - Duluth Bulldogs(1-1) - A loss to the dangerous Tweety's isn't surprising, but the Bulldogs were dominated allowing over 500 yards. QB Alex Favre was harrassed all game - hurried 10 times and sacked 9. The run game was completely shutdown going backwards to the tune of 38 yards. This was hopefully a wake up call, and the Bulldogs will make the necessary changes as they will face teams more dangerous than the Tweety's as the season progresses.
Next week at Krungthep Garudas -A rebound vs the Gothic is just what they needed as they continue rolling and beat the Garudas

12(12) - Portland Dirty Penguins(0-2) - On the good side, they played a good Bangkok team very tough, and get to regroup vs Phuket All this week. On the other hand, they come back from the bye against Singapore, Bandar, ESL and the Katanas - a stretch that will be vital to there playoff chances.
Next week at Phuket All-Penguins get a much needed bye week to hopefully jump start there season

13(11) - Chaiyaphum Gothic(0-2) - Not the way the Gothic wanted to start the season. They now need to go into Lost City and steal a win, or beat a team that has historically pummeled them in Bangkok. Last season they started 0-3 and still made the playoffs, and they are going to need to start channeling that magic now.
Next week at Lost City Idols-Idols at home are too much for the Gothic

14(14) - Macau Gamblers(1-1) - Win was vs Phuket All. Were completely destroyed by HKH in week 1. Need to show up now or risk losing next 6 games.
Next week at Singapore Marauders -Marauders running game returns to take apart the Gamblers

15(15) - Tokyo Whalers(0-2) - .CPU's on the starting lineups is never a good sign
16(16) - Phuket All(0-2) - CPU Players

That was a very nice read, thanks for all the research and hard work - this conference is so deep with contenders it's really tough to call.

Nice work HB............ but I'm a little surprised by your write up on Bandar. "Hate" is such a strong word.

fool...I can understand your desire to be so...but stop being so modest, coach!

Actually, I'd love to say that we're going to achieve the same level of performance that we did last season, but I'm actually quite pleased to find that there's a higher level of competition here. It will definitely make the games a lot more fun to watch!

GL to all the teams here!

Is it just me, or are the Lampung one's a little quiet this season. Could it be they have run out of smac?

Ouch Dragons got a beat down from the Pirates. Was not expecting so many passes against us(72) along with 21 passes to Gavin Dunn. Good game guys
