Hello all, I've created an unofficial player draft forum for the next off season. Wanted to see how many teams or agents may be interested in participating. Please send me a PM if you wish to participate. The draft is "NOT" Network Particular, Thanks!

Please PM if interested, Thanks!

the problem I would see with something like this...is that there is not anyway to stop players from signing with teams that did not draft them. in real life teams hold a players rights for something like a year after they draft them which keeps them from signing with another team if the drafting team is unable to sign them. a draft such as this will have no way to enforce anything like this

Yea, we thought about that and really, until we can convince GLB to give us an official one, which is on the never gonna happen list, we need to go by an honor system of sorts. Thos agents and players who don't play nice will just be banned and blacklisted, from some large networks.

In order to do this you would probably need to do the following:

Get about 16 teams (we'll call it a league) at least together to agree to this.

Compile a roster size for each team and total the amount of players needed at each position for the whole "league" to be inputted on a draft list. This would probably make recruiting easier because you have 16 owners all trying to get people to buy into the idea and it would definitely be marketable to attract agents.

Each team would need to sign people from the draft list for minimum salaries (I'd do it for three year contracts) to lock the players up and prevent them from signing with another team after the draft.

The draft would then occur and each team would make the necessary trades of players to the team that drafted them

Sounds pretty cool.

It will never be official. Player drafts of any kind are on the never going to happen list in suggestions. No offense though, just saying what I've seen

Wait, nevermind, need it to be explained.

So would it just be like a Mock GLB Draft? That would be kinda fun.

Get on board if you want, leave it alone if you don't, basically, you volunteer a few players, at least one, for the draft, and it makes you eligible to draft from the pool of other folks who are willing to submit their players.

I like the idea, and we'll see where it goes, it's never gonna be an official option and I salute USCGuardsman for taking the ball on this and running with it.

someone should make a Draft team

where the team exists to have yearly drafts, the draft teams signs the players for the draft and after the draft trades them to the proper teams
