first off, do you think this would be a good 4'th quarter specific defense? or anytime?
and I was thinking 4-3, center, man to man, short, run (stack the box), and 1 random blitzer?

am I in the right ballpark here ? would goal line be better than 4-3 for a 4'th down and short specific input play ?

I find GL D doesn't work.

I don't really understand the question? are you asking if that is a good formation to stop them getting a 1st down on 4th and short?

yes, I am. and also asking if y'all would put this in as a specific 4'th quarter play or just anytime?

No, if I saw that as an offensive coordinator, I would just run a screen pass, which would result in a TD. Goal line D is pretty bad.
