Another thrilling week of USA Pro action saw some surprising teams fall to 0-2 including the Philadelphia Pushovers and Detroit Demon Lions. Things at the top remained pretty much the same and only one team, the Bullets, moved into the Hazy 10. It's still early though and the next few weeks should really define things.

West

1. Monmouth Evil Monkeys 2-0 - as was to be expected, Monmouth poured it on in a 247-0 route of the Penguins. Apparently cruise control is broken as Monmouth put up 98 in the 4th quarter. For those keeping track at home that's an average of one touchdown every 64.3 seconds. Good times in Evil Monkey land. This week they get to continue Dallas's introduction to USA Pro - what joy to go from league champion to 0-3.

Up next: at home against the 0-2 Dallas Orangebloods

2. Honolulu Hurricane Warriors 2-0 - speaking of the Orangebloods, they were the latest victims of the Wang attack as everybody was wang chunging tonight. While the Warrior offense was impressive with 310 yards on the ground, it was their defense that was even more outstanding as they held Dallas to a mere 173 yards including holding their RB's to 7 yards on 11 carries. Honestly, I can't see anyone touching HHW until their week 6 clash with Parma.

Up next: at home against the 1-1 Lincoln Navigators

3. Parma Burglars 2-0 - in news out of Parma, league officials are mum on whether Burglars DT Dan Dakota tested positive for anabolic steroids. Vaqueros players were heard mumbling, "he's juiced" after Dakotas latest effort, a 8 sack domination. To the Vaqueros credit they did hold Parma to 28 points and under 400 yards but that's not nearly good enough when all you can muster up is 27.5 yards of offense.

Up next: at the 1-1 Richmond Rebel Yell

4. Las Vegas Freebirds 2-0 - the Freebirds put up 20 points in the 2nd quarter to take a 26-0 halftime lead over the Bucks and never looked back in winning 40-10. QB Joestev Youngtana led the way for the Las Vegas offense with 311 yards of passing and 5 scores. Another easy win this week for Las Vegas before they start facing some tougher teams.

Up next: at home against the 0-2 Anchorage Penguins

5. San Francisco Fire 1-1 - San Francisco rebounded from their opening day loss with a tough fough 27-24 victory over the Lincoln Navigators. The Fire did it through the air with their two QB's combining for 300+ yards including a huge 67 yard TD pass from Roger Rocket to Dead CMS. The Fire have another challenge this week in the Spartans, but look to be back on the right track.

Up next: at home against the 1-1 South Bay Spartans

Others considered: Minnesota Marauders 2-0, Oklahoma City Thunderstorm 2-0

East

1. Cincinnati Shockers 2-0 - the pesky Red Wolves gave Cincinnati all they could handle, with the Shockers only winning by a slim 28-14 margin. Cincy dominated the stats with 345 yards of offense to Rhode Islands 178 but 3 interceptions from Shockers QB John Young kept the Red Wolves in the game. Cincy went to the ground an amazing 65 times for a total of 239 yards with Jacob Orangeblood leading the way with 140.5 yards on 34 carries. The Shockers get to continue the Gamblers rude orientation to USA Pro this week and look to go 3-0 heading into a three week stretch that includes the Bullets, OFG's, and Pushovers.

Up next: at home against the 1-1 Las Vegas Gamblers

2. Green Bay Maulers 2-0 - in what many considered the USA Pro game of the week, the Maulers held on against the Coyotes for a 30-27 win with the difference being an immaculate interception with K-Zoo on the door steps of taking the lead with 4 minutes left in the game. The Maulers found out just how good the K-Zoo offense is, yielding 436 yards of offense -- most of it through the air -- and only forcing one turnover. It was a huge turnover though. Green Bay did just enough on offense with their QB's going a very efficient 33 of 38 for 252 yards.

Up next: at home against the 0-2 Kentucky Madcats

3. ***Official*** Footballguys 2-0 - those who were underestimating how good the OFG's were probably aren't any longer after they easily took care of the Detroit Demon Lions 27-10. A 83 yard TD pass to Brandon Clemmons with 2 minutes left in the first half made the score 14-3 and the OFG's never looked back after that. (HULK)(FLING ROCK) completed only 20 of 42 passes, but averaged over 15 yards a completion and threw for 3 scores to lead the way for the 2-0 OFG's. Up next they will face a Philly team desperate for a win.

Up next: at the 0-2 Philadelphia Pushovers

4. Washington Bullets 2-0 - after an impressive 34-6 thrashing of the Pushovers, the Bullets find themselves in the Hazy 10 for the first time and rightfully so. The Bullets defense was dominant, limiting the Pushovers to a mere 142.5 yards. The offense was more than capable with 430 yards, including 295 and 3 TD's from QB Scott Boonell. The Bullets will win this week, setting up a showdown with the #1 Shockers in week 4.

Up next: at the 0-2 Doomsday Sin

5. Kalamazoo Coyotes 1-1 - despite losing to the Maulers, the Coyotes remain in the Hazy 10. I just feel they are better than the two 2-0 teams and until someone proves otherwise, they're here to stay. K-Zoo did everything they could to win the game and Ron Dash is looking as a front runner for league MVP honors as he put up 390 yards on a very good Green Bay defense. The Coyotes will cruise this week and I'm predicting 1,000+ yards of offense.

Up next: at the 0-2 Arizona Termites

Others considered: Las Vegas Flyin' Elvis 2-0, Orlando Pirates 2-0

Happy we remained in the top 10.

That interception at the end of the game pretty much ruined it for us, but we still played a very good game.

It was a hell of a game. As I wrote in the Pro talk thread, I'm thankful as hell for 2 things: that we played you early (since all you've done is get better every game since you bought the team) and that we somehow found a way to win. You should be proud as hell of your team and what you've done with it.

Thanks, I am really proud of the way that the team played.

It was hell whenever I first got it.
