could someone shed some light on this VA?

It seems very good, but the more I read it the more I have questions:

(1.) Do you have a 2% chance of breaking your block and knocking down blocker?

(2.) Do you have a 2% chance of knocking down your blocker ONLY when you have broken the block.

#1 is great while #2 seems to only work when your out-level the G which won't happen but so often in AA and above.

Neither of those options, to my understanding of heavyweight.

A) You successfully break a block.
B) You have a chance to reverse pancake the blocker (probably based on strength).
C) +2% per level of heavyweight is then multiplied by that percentage and added to the base percentage.

So you break a block successfully, let's say this gives you a 20% base chance to reverse pancake (due to the formula). You have 15 in heavyweight (or +30% chance for knockdown), this means that you now have a straight 26% chance to reverse pancake the blocker (as opposed to 20%, for a +6% increase). Obviously, the higher your base chance to reverse pancake a blocker, the more valuable heavyweight becomes.

C is correct, as far as we have been told by Bort.

As I understand it the deal is this - the way the game defines breaking a block is disengaging with the blocker. Each time you disengage (break) you've got a chance to get by the blocker, but also a chance for the blocker to reengage (probably at a complete guess this is based on the blocker's blocking skill and both players agility/speed). You've also got a chance of reverse pancaking the blocker, which obviously means you're going to get by him, and take him out of the play.

What Heavyweight does, the way I understand it, is C, but when it talks about breaking a block it doesn't necessarily mean once you're past a player, it means when you disengage. So the way I read it Heavyweight essentially increases your chance to break off the block in such a way that you put the blocker on his ass, basically meaning you increase your chance to get by a blocker.

Thats how I understand it.

Does pass rushing style make a difference when using Heavyweight (i.e. you're more likely to knock a olineman down with bull rush vs. elusive)?
