Sure Hands, Soft Hands, or Mr. Reliable...anything else

n00b question about Sure Hands

it is:
When failing a catch pass check, the Sure Hands ability gives this player a second chance to retry the roll. Each level gives a +5% chance to allow the second roll.Unmet Prerequisites: 50 catching

this "second chance" what is it and when happen?

practical example:
2nd and 10...pass vs TE...dropped or deflected.
3rd and 10...+5% to do same action and pass vs TE and this time sure catch pass?!

sorry but I don't understand this.
thanks

basically if you fail a catching check for any reason Sure Hands increases the chance of you getting a second roll on THAT catch.

so...my TE has 2 men near to him...and there is a deflection....in the same play he will have +5% to catch that deflection.

is correct?

so it works for dropped.

so Soft Hands is to catch the ball at first time

and Sure hands when you dropped a pass and you'll have +5% to catch that ball.

ok.
thanks

That's the big question that Bort refuses to clarify. Some deflected passes are caught, so some people believe that sure hands would help with that.....which would make Sure Hands a very nice VA. Without that it would be a fairly useless VA

From a very small sample size, I will say that sure hands has helped out a lot, especially with deflected passes still caught by the TE.

hope this concrete evidence helps in your decision

i went with Redzone Freak and Clutch, but i just found out that i've been getting pulled in the redzone in favor of another OL, made them pretty much useless. ridiculous, but we'll see how it goes now that i'm a GM on the team, hee hee...

I did clutch and haven't noticed anything and I have it at 10.
