Last season my DC stopped using the defensive plays after the second game because we were giving up too many points. Can anyone tell me if I should just continue using tactics and AI only or should I try implementing some of the defensive plays into our game plan? Do these plays work and is there some kind of "How to" that talks about the uses?

No. I use the Defensive AI's to set up situational tactics instead of using the option to choose a specific play while still enabling the basic defensive tactics to catch anything I overlook.

For example, in a third and 4-7 yards to go, I can either choose to set up a defensive set and determine how many and who will blitz or play man/zone coverage or I can choose Inside LB Fire (Nickle) as my call. The question is, will the Inside LB Fire (nickle) call be effective or should I stick with the first option.
