I in vested in it heavily...thought I'd roll the dice. My first game I was 26 of 41 for 281 yrd 4 tds and no ints. I did notice however that there a lot of deflected passes, something I was hoping to avoid. There secondary had a level 39 and 40 CBs, 41 FS and 42 SS. They have quality builds too.
The jury is still out on quick release for me and will be for a little while.
I put 15 in laser arm (throwing) and 7 in quick release. I had 2 INTs but one of them was bobbled by the HB and picked off and you can see that in the replay if you want. Looks like the ball levitates to the CB. He had a good completion % and 2 TDs but we ran mostly.
I wouldn't say I invested heavily but I put a considerable amount of points into it. My QB went 24 for 28 with 2 TDs. However, the stats are misleading because we threw a lot of dump passes in this game. Still, I physically saw approx 4-5 throws that were obviously triggered Quick Release plays because he got rid of the ball very fast without any pressure. Most of them were completed to a wide open receiver (thanks to Bort's latest change that allows a QB to actually throw to the open man for a change) but 1 or 2 were off the mark because he rushed the throw.
A lot more testing and evaluation will have to be done but my initial thought is that it could be a great tool if used moderately. I wouldn't want my QB doing it all the time because I think it could lead to erratic play and too many misfires, but if say 15% of his throws are quick like what I saw then that's a fair amount for me.
Again, this is just my personal observation and I'm interested to know what other people are seeing.
I watched the game film and noticed a considerable difference because the new ability to be able to throw sooner during a route if the WR is open is coupled well with QR. I was rifle-arming passes into my WRs and TEs, especially under pressure. I have noticed a big difference from last season without it, to this first game.
I dont have that many points in quick release but i have a couple. He hasnt done anything that spectacular in the scrimmage games but i think this an example of a quick release unfortunately it didnt work but i think he saw the pressure coming up the middle and got rid of it: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=347155&pbp_id=892221
