This receiver, WesWelker RandyMoss [ Open build: http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=987018 ] should not have been able to get by like that. My guy is 61 SPEED, 51 AGILITY and 52 VISION. It looks like Porthos bites on a PUMP FAKE v. a Level 13 QB.

Is this the new AGILITY route running?

I noticed that 1 CB was "jumping the screen" on the side with 2 WR's in a Single Back set:

The CB was in zone coverage and just stopped at the top of his zone. It was a cover 2.

thats cover 1 man... and he probably has his cb on aggressive for the INT

I do have Close/Aggressive.

Is this the net effect of C/A coverage? Its not as if the route was to the point of throwing the ball. These guys are jumping way early.

I do not D-Co this team so I do not know what he has programmed, but neither play is Cover 1.

The first play is Cover 0. There's no other way to get the FS up on a WR in GLB. The second is Cover 2.

perhaps the qb pump faked or something. but yea you jumped the route didnt have help over the top cause your safety I dont know what he was doing...

but its a cover 1, the safety just didnt stay where he was supposed to. and if it was a cover zero, you had no business playing aggressive like that with no safety help.

looks like the strong safety is just really bad... what was his assignment in the first play?

Yeah, see, I have no idea. If I were the D-Co, I could figure this out. This is just a 13-capper I signed on.

I can't believe a QB would have an effective PUMP FAKE at this level.

I have never seen this behavior, which is why I thought it may be new Season 7 stuff.

you need to ask your DC what was goin on in that play, not us...

Wondering if others had seen this at all is the reason I posted.

I havent played a game yet in season 7.

couple possibilities...

1. pump fake
2. juke/headfake with the new route running
3. failed vision check

I appreciate the feedback, Negronic. Its got me scratching my head. I D-Co 4 teams and haven't seen this ever.

As I mentioned, this is a new 13-capper.
1] I doubt the QB pumped a lot into SA's yet.
2] It seemed to happen most every play <-- It may be this

I have switched to Close/Semi to see what, if anything, changes. If coverage improves, I would have to conclude that Close/Aggressive is only for 60+ AGILITY [or something similar]. If nothing improves, I need to see the D AI.

whats a failed vision check mean?

its not new, it happened to my CB at lower levels and I was did all the AI and think i figured out the problem.

The DC set the coverage focus to short, you were getting a jump in case it was a short route. The replay is what happens with short focus vs deep route
