I have 24k, and will get most if not all of my money back. I have 11 bonus tokens, so I can use 8 to upgrade it. My player is level 13.

You always want +2 or 3 to a good attribute (speed, agility, vision, maybe jumping/tackling, stamina, confidence) with a useful SA. Useful SAs include Shed Block, Aura (if you like aura, some don't), tunnel vision, blitz, closing speed, super vision, first step, change direction, and shutdown coverage. Base on your role on the team, of course, so if you don't blitz, don't get blitz, TV, or SB.

What about strong base?

Don't worry about anything permanent yet. You won't find anything truly worthwhile until at least level 30. Get something reasonable now to hold your bonus tokens, but don't waste time shopping to find something long term at level 13. It's better to accumulate bonus tokens now, than to waste time shopping.

Or you could train a single attribute and collect shopping points (no limit) for however long you choose. You'll bring whatever your training on up faster than training 2. Bonus tokens IMO are only good if you have a AEQ already. The temp boost +1 SP for 4 BTs is a joke.

But I agree with Wally, dont sweat a long term AEQ right now.

Yeah, I'm aware of this, and even advocated it a while ago in another thread on this forum. The only time I suggest doing this though is when you run out of intense training pairs. Later on those become inconvenient once several attributes are capped and at that point it would be a great time to train just a single attribute (and stockpile shopping tokens). Before that time though, bonus tokens are still far more desirable. And since the OP is only at level 13, he should have plenty of desirable options for intense training.

I see your point Wally, I actually think the opposite is true. Take advantage of the low cost of single training and getting the most you can gain per attribute at the early stages while stockpiling shopping tokens. Training intense falls in 3 day (6 training points) 2 day (5 training points) cycle. So lets say your training strength and tackling and both are at 20. Now lets say training will get you 35% of 1 SP at 20. Training normal (single) you'll get both up 1 SP in 6 days. Intense will cost you 8 days and it cost more to train 2 at one time than it does training 2 normals back to back (more to spend on that really decent AEQ later on). So in a 40 day training cycle (I know its longer now but just for example) you'll get more into your attributes than you would by going intense and piling on BTs for an eq upgrade. IMO i think thats better for your player's build.

But again its all preference. Stockpiling BTs now is good too as long as you dump the excess of 8 tokens in an AEQ before season's end and who knows, you might luck up and get a GREAT piece early like my (then) lvl 18 CB did. Cost $108k but well worth it.

Yeah, I wouldn't disagree with you. The only reason to do intense training really is to garner bonus tokens. If done right, you can get a piece with an SA up to 3 points by the time you get to level 32. It's not a direct net gain to your attributes, but your overall player will benefit.

And while I'm an advocate of stockpiling shopping tokens until you're at a good level to use it, you (probably) don't need the amount to be gained from Normal training during an entire season, unless you're just super unlucky.

For my own slow-build LB, all I did was shop once, got lucky with a +2% "make tackle" piece, and just equipped that while upgrading it during his growth. I've got 7 BT's saved up, 24 in the piece, and will probably be able to have 40 by the time I hit level 32. Couple this with 14 shopping tokens, and he will have an incredibly well-upgraded piece by the time his build rounds out. He should be able to stay ahead in BT to upgrade his AE at each level tier until at least level 48, so it'll never be a case of him waiting for bonus tokens to upgrade the piece. This is why I'm an advocate of garnering as many bonus tokens as possible early in your player's career.

although I'm not a huge fan of aura, I just rolled a +3 speed, +1 aura for my ROLB. I'm guessing I should bite.

Yeah, I would take that even though I'm somewhat unsure about Aura.
