Sign a couple of good GMs to manage your AI. That alone should get you to 8-8 and possibly playoffs, which will make recruiting next season much easier. Gms may even have players to bring to your team. Advertise in Teams seeking GMs forum. Good luck. It is frustrating and people shouldn't buy teams if they don't like recruiting.

I like recruiting, but when you send 200 pms and have 3 guys to show for it, it sucks

haha yes recruiting is horrible. Back in season 3 and 4 it wasnt so bad. I have a 14-2 team and its still hard to sign players. My already traded my soul for a Cornerback, so i guess the alerts wont be so bad now

Rather than deal with the unreasonable demands of the agents, go to the trading marketplace.
You have over $5 mil -- offer max cash for players that are signed through Season 8. At comparable levels to your team, that would be around $650K - 750K.
You will have better luck with players that owned by the team owner because they are selling them off to get money for their team.
Watch the expiration dates closely because there are a lot of owners trying to dump off contracts that expire Day 1 for max cash (should be banned for that). So -- buyer beware.
Also, look at the builds -- you can usually get a cheaper player with a better build if you dig a little.

This is good advice. And from experience, unless you win a league championship/go undefeated, it's challenging. We still have just 3 WRs at Tonga, and this will be the thinnest roster we've ever had. And we've never been worse than 10-6, even in our first season after promotion.

The problem is that top pro teams are happy getting level 35 players and paying them 300k just to sit the bench when we cant even come close to affording that as a third season team.

I can afford players, and I pay for everyone's equipment 100% including advanced and have been since my first season. I cant sign anybody. I swear I sent offers to every player in the game, and cant get players. I went 14-2 1st season and 14- 2 second season. Im in my 3rd season and got promoted and lost a lot of players and now short 11 -15 people. Im picky also I want good builds, CE and Boosters, i do min contract and min bonus, so you will never see my team broke 
Just with no players to go with a nice stadium
EDIT: I hate to see a good player go to waist on a bad team that doesn't know how to use AI.
