I am thinking
Textbook Tackler - This player spends hours with the tackling dummy. Each level of Textbook Tackler gives a +1% bonus to the tackling attribute.
Heavyweight - This player is hard to block. Each level of Heavyweight gives a +2% bonus to knocking down his blocker when breaking a block.
Long Reach - This player has an exceptional wingspan. When failing a pass deflection check, the Long Reach ability gives this player a second chance to retry the roll. Each level gives a +3% chance to allow a second roll.
Red Zone Freak - This player turns it on in the red zone. Each level of Red Zone Freak gives a +5% chance to gain a 5% bonus to all attributes when inside the 20 yard line, either on offense or defense.
Never Give Up - Get back in the play! Each level of Never Give Up gives a +3% bonus to the speed of getting up after falling down on defense.
Power Tackler - Knock the ball loose! Each level of Power Tackler gives a +2% bonus to forcing fumbles.
Suer Tackler - Knock the ball loose! Each level of Power Tackler gives a +2% bonus to forcing fumbles.

DEFINITELY would like to hear this answer from Bort. I'm thinking Monster Hit and Power Tackling could be the right path to FF Heaven!
They do stack and can both activate at the same time.
I.E. It's something like if your force fumble score is 50% and you have a +10% force fumble, now it's 55%. "Monster hit" activates and adds another bonus, etc.

I'm still trying to decide what to spend my points on but my initial thought after reading them all was to pour my points into Red Zone Freak and Clutch. I have 21 points right now so either 10 in one and 11 in the other or 15 in Red Zone Freak with 6 in Clutch. Since Red Zone Defense and 3rd/4th Down Defense is the most critical time for a defender, boosting both situations should make my guy come up with some key stops in key situations. Especially on 3rd or 4th down inside the Redzone, late in the game. A key stop then could make the difference between a loss and a win.

I am also tempted to pour 15 points into Power Tackler but after wasting points on Monster hit without ever seeing any results I think I will wait on that one to see if it actually works.

Right now I'm having a hard time deciding. As a DG based MLB my build suffers, so raw stat boosting is definitely a viable option, then there's clutch and red zone freak, but I'm not so sure about freak. Even with an almost sure chance maxed out to get the bonus, I don't think the 3 or so points I'd get from it would make THAT much of a difference. But I guess that depends on how many stats you value for a LB.
Then of course, Natural leader, which I did already put some points into, obviously. Intimidation could be useful, but I don't see placing more importance on it than the others. But I'm also skeptical about clutch. It's so ambiguous that it could be nearly useless, but I doubt that. Of course your team could also boost second wind which adds yet another skill. Streaky also seems good with an very good chance for the bonus. And obviously, sure tackler.
I don't think much of power tackler. FFs are not reliable in the least, and given that say you might make 5 FFs on 100 tackles, that's only about a 5% chance (I'm sure it's not that simple, but for argument's sake). Even a 50% boost wouldn't be that significant.
All that said...I am at a complete loss for what to do <_<

Clutch feels nice, since it does not have the field-position hindrance of Red Zone Freak, but the description of what Clutch actually does it too vague to make judge if Clutch is actually good at all.
(it basically says, in some 3th or 4th downs, especially in late games, you might get some bonus to something... O_o)
Red Zone Freak sounds like, I'm going all mad, but we already lost the field-position...
Also, does it say: "+5% chance per level, to give a 5% bonus (no level here?)", or
"+5% chance per level, to give a 5% bonus per level (which is quite high, since +75% boost to a 80 natural skill = 140 in total, niceness for speed + then EQs in addtion
)"?
Problem with Power Tackler and similar Vet.Abils - gives bonus to some thing that relates to your skills vs. target players skills - is again, bonus to percentage (so if your skills do suck, the bonus is minimal)... problematic.
Zone Specialist starts sound good, if your LB is used in lot of coverage plays... same goes with the Kick-Special combo of Special Teamer + Distance Runner (latter nice, if you're playing KOS + "Starter" - which does sometime happen).
Natural attribute bonuses are nice, since you already should have attributes higher than sixty... (which means +1% per level, with 15 levels at 40+, is about 9pts to 60 natural attribute, and 12 pts to 80 natural, it's really a lot if counted in skill-points.)

It'd be nice if you ACTUALLY quoted me next time. But yea, I'm going to experiment with that. I have 5 in MH and 15 in PT right now.

however, even causing an extra +2 turnover ratio throughout the course of the season can translate into a win or 2 extra. even more if multiple players on your team can get that increase. just to play both sides of the argument
I wouldn't really argue this, but if you're going the forced fumble route, be prepared to be disappointed. Remember, there's no guarantee that you'll even recover the fumble; I'm sure everyone here has forced fumbles that were recovered by the offense. However, if you chose to emphasize skills that increased interception rates (esp if you're a CB or safety), then I view these skills as far more worthy since if you get the pick, you get the turnover. If you force a fumble though, you don't automatically get the turnover.
Also consider the opportunity cost. With 10 in Power Tackler, that's 10 lost for something like Track Star, or Quick, or Clutch, or Red Zone Freak, etc. All of those skills can also indirectly contribute to causing fumbles but have a far larger scope than Power Tackling.
The only situation I can see Power Tackling being viable is if Bort upped the % chance to at least 5%. 10 points would then put the increased chance up to 50%, and if you used the numbers I used above, that puts you at a 6% chance to force a fumble. If you then built your player in this way and invested in skills like Monster Hit while switching to Power tackling, you could probably get that total % to roughly 15%. Extrapolate that over a 100 tackle season and you get 15 fumbles and let's assume you recover 10 of those. Nice work there, but don't forget that your missed tackles will then shoot through the roof. This puts a strain on your secondary since they'll have to put in more work tackling HB's, which will then raise your team's overall missed tackles as well, leading to longer gains overall for opposing offenses. No thanks; I would rather force more 3-and-outs than turnovers. Winning the turnover battle is great, but time of possession is far more important than that. And this is all from assuming it's a 5% increase to Power Tackle.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the worse it seems to me. Forcing fumbles is fun and glamorous, but going down that route is really not recommended at all.
