What are you going to invest in?

Quick looks good, as does Track Star.

Brick Wall could be good for the right player. Heavy Weight could be nice. Power Tackler causes fumbles. There are several others that could be beneficial.

What is everyone else looking at?

I think Track Star and Quick are going to be the only real ones worth getting.

Power Tackler is going to be overrated, Anyone with base agility of say 50, is getting .5 agility per point, that's much better than
(1.01) * (Current force fumble %)

Some that caught my eye that aren't exactly DE related were streaky and slow starter

I was looking at streaky, but i think it's best to save up about 15-20 veteran points and put them all at once, to avoid bad days.

I went with Clutch. 3rd down is often a passing situation, and I guess it depends on what the bonuses actually are, but I think it could be pretty valuable.

Clutch is so vague though. It gives you access to "various bonuses". What bonuses is it refering to?

I am looking at heavyweight with some interest, since if I knock that OT down when breaking the block I won't have to do the whole disengage ->reengage routine that happens when you go up against a good OT

more importantly, what are the O-linemen spending theirs on?
It looks like they're all pumping into quick and a little into blocking

First glance...quick and track star seem the best for a DE.

Natural leader seems good for a NT with high D-line general.

Red zone freak is interesting and seems very powerful when activated.
Clutch seems good but vague as to what it does.

I will probably put all Vet points in quick...

do u guys recommend dropping 15 veteran points in streaky? that would make the ratio 80%-20% for good days vs bad days

It would make it 78-22%.

Personally I would rather have a guaranteed +15% in my main attribute vs a chance at +- 5% gain across the board. At 78-22 on average every 5th game your player is going to be ineffective.

I think that Quick and Track Star are the best and surest way to use VA. In my mind, the best way to use VA points is to maximize your highest attribute. In other words, if you're an AGI rusher and have spent the most skill points on AGI, then use as many points as possible on Quick. Why? Just think of it in terms of cost and benefit. I have a DE that has 78 AGI and let's say I use 5 VA points on Quick. That would give me an additional 3.9 AGI points, which at my level would cost me 12 skill points. Now, let's say I used that same 5 VA points instead on Workout Warrior. Since my DE only has 54 on STR, the 5 VA points on Workout Warrior would give me a total of 2.7 STR points, something that would only cost me 6 skill points.

The only wildcard that I see for DEs is Heavyweight because nobody is really sure how that ability works compared to the standard AGI/STR/SPD check between your DE and their OL on every play.

Well I put all 10 points into Clutch. I guess I'll see how it works. The bonuses are vague but it has to mean something, right?

heavyweight seems good in theory, but what good is knocking down a defender AFTER you've shed his block? if it was a better % to knock down and shed a block, it would be worth it.

i'll be adding 15 to track star at the beginning of next season, probably. base of 68 means 10 more speed on every play, which is very nice.
