I was looking for a new home for my QB, and after looking through most of the top teams in each conference, i noticed that most of them only run 1 QB and it made me wonder....

Is it to ensure max play time for the QB, or is there some other reason i havent seen that makes it better to run only 1 QB instead of having a reliable backup?

how about we flip the question...

what's the purpose of having a backup QB in general?

do those reasons apply to GLB?

Two equally talented QBs means the fresh one would give an increase to performance

Exactly...i figure if you have 2 good QBs it allows you to perform at a higher level in the 2nd half of the game, plus it can somewhat negate the effects of demoralization caused by sacks, ints etc.

My team ran 1 QB only due to not being able to find a decent QB willing to play backup, but if i had the option i would have been running two. Thus back to my original question...is ensuring max play time for your QB the only reason most of the top pro teams seem to only run 1 QB?

Since max XP is attained at 30 or so plays, I doubt it's that.

If they ever introduce injuries, I think you might see a big run on QBs, but at the Pro level (more specifically, around L40) most QBs have enough stamina to remain fairly effective for the entire game.

Statwhoring is reason number one in my opinion. cf. El Diablo.

Everybody wants the numbers and nobody is willing to be a backup. I'd say being a backup has been pretty good for my QB.

This is the reason, and now that fame is in, it will be more extreme

This, except you looked at it wrong. It isn't that easy to find a QB with the same talent level as a 45. I've been trying for two seasons but never see the point when our current one can play an entire game, and most backups I've seen are worse in attributes.

QBs don't seem to lose very much stamina, so i don't buy the whole "keep him fresh"

we haven't noticed any drop off late in the game, either.

that said, the one reason i could think of would be so that a bad play doesn't affect your morale so much (assuming you rotated QB on each play)

still....i don't think there's much of a point to it.
