I ask this because I originally intended on my LB to focus on pass rushing so I softcapped his strength...I'm not really used as a pass rusher that much though so I have no sacks to show for it, but still would like to know if the strength is still useful for shedding blocks and such (last season I played ROLB...while this one I'm now LOLB and so far so good)

.. . You would think it would play a huge part but that linebacker is dead meat if he gets engaged with a center/guard/ or tackle and might have a fighting chance by outmanuevering the FB. How quickly do you think a 60 strength linebacker will shed an 80 strength lineman. Not so much. Your LB sacks will come from speed off the edge or the middle when the interior line is engaged by the DL. I've hardly ever seen ANY LB come up with a sack when he has even been chipped by a blocker. More agile/faster=more success more often

All you can do is build accordingly and hope a LB blitz gets called while you are in the game.

sell the SA

I had that one and sold it as well. I went through a +Wall and 2 +Monster Hits before finally getting a +1 First Step this season.

I personally prefer the +% AE's. And, again personally, if I'm going with an AE, I want one that I have already, or would anyway, be using SP's to build up; for a LB, Shed Block, Defense General, Diving Tackle or Big Sack are my favorites. As you add SP-built points to an SA, the points from the AE get more and more effective and also more valuable in terms of the SP's it would cost to build those points yourself.

When buying an AE, consider your existing build; after buying an AE, you're going to want your build from there to work with the AE. Here, the Wall SA relies mostly on strength, and maybe a bit on confidence, both things your guy doesn't emphasize.

yea but having the Wall SA implies that you will be locking up with an offensive lineman and the second you do its a loosing fight for 2 reasons. 1- your not going to overpower a O-Lineman, period. FBs OTs and Guards rely heavily on strength. Chances are they wil be at least 20-30 points higher in strength then your LB....loosing battle no matter what SA you have. 2- and more important than the first, once you lock up with a O-lineman, the play is over for you. In the first second your LB gets locked up with the lineman, the HB has gone 3-5 yards further from you. The QB has gotten a chance to complete his check down and is cocking back to pass, the tight end made his cut and if your player happens to break away, he's no longer a threat. The ball is down field for someone else to get to or not.

Think agility, shed block, avoid block, first step, speed. STAY AWAY from thoughts of engagement.

Clearly you're just bragging about finding a near perfect item.

I actually wasn't bragging, I didn't know if First Step worked well for LB's or not. I guess from the responses, it does.

edit: I bought it, but now the more important question: Do I upgrade it with agility or speed?

I'd stick with agility, mainly because my guy wears 2 pieces of agility and I like to keep the gap small.
