btw, has anyone seen any LB with zero points in SAs? Could that work (most likely better for OLB than ILB, since the def.general still sounds like good stuff)?

You know, I'm not a big fan of SAs, I think they take too many SPs away from the attributes to "possibly" get the desired effect. I have a lvl 12 LB that I think I'll experiment with, using no SAs.

Don't put anything into SAs until you're around LVL 20. Also, many SAs don't start to have a major effect until you get them to 5+.

Its not when you should put into SAs I'm trying to prove, its IF you need to use them at all. How many SPs do you have to use to just to get Shed Block to +5? Im guessing that all of those SPs could go into basic attributes and still give you the results you looking for.

You're going to run out of stuff about 4 seasons in when your LB is around mid-late 30's. It's not really fun gaining a level then raising your agility by 1 point.

yeah, most of the LB high-tier SAs feel kinda crap, so I'm considering quite much of waste of time currently (lvl41-42 players), maybe at some point I'll put some cooler ones over the 5+ line.

Shed block to +5 is:
Trash talk: 1,2 = 1,1
The Glare: 1,2,3 = 1,1,2
Shed block: 1,2,3,4,5 = 1+1+2+2+3
total = 2+4+9 = 15 pts

if you incl. the Custom Eq. boost to that bit easier...

btw, does Custom Eq. extra +1 to whole tree also count for the prerequistes so that the limits of next SAs in the tree benefit from the +1 (next skill can be raised by 1+1)? I think it does not, but haven't tested it.

Shed Block and Diving Tackle are both definitely worth it.

Im guessing with a decent amount of agility and vision I can do without shed bock. High amounts of jumping and a respectable level of tackling will cover Dive tackle.

Thats gonna happen eventually anyway. But my guess is my LB will be either more well rounded so that I will still be able to put SP into majors, or my player will be WELL ahead of the curve and I wont have much need for SPs for a few lvls.

Its just an experiment at the very least to see how long my LB can be effective without SAs

I havent spent one point in SA's for my level 30 OLB and I love him.

Maybe after I get speed to 68, agility to 68, strength tackle and jump to cap. then I might get diving tackle to 2.

20 sacks, not bad. Whats your Confidence?

By level 40 you'll definitely play better if you get some SAs.

30 confidence. I would have had more sacks but I had to move him out of position do to depth issues halfway through the season. We also play a 3-4 and blitz our OLBs a ton

Our LOLB had 20 sacks

What SA's would make you play better?

Maybe a little shed block, but that pretty much just helps on pass plays and he will be fast enough to where he shouldn't get touched. Diving tackle might help a little, but points would be better spent in jump which helps in pass defense too

I'm level 33 and haven't spent a sp in SAs. I don;t think it can be considered experimental, LB SAs are so relativly useless its almost obvious
