Boston Nighthawks V Cincinnati Shockers. Boston has followed up the perfect regular season with 2 playoff blowouts. Boston has proven to be a one dimensional offense in the playoffs. The problem for the rest of the league is they have become a passing offense. The team that averaged 362 on the ground for the regular season, is averaging 528 in the air for their two playoff wins. Defensively they are just as effective having held a solid Philly team to 157 TOTAL yards in their last game.
The Shockers have not been quite so dominate in the playoffs, but survival is what counts at this time of the year. 4th quarter comebacks have led them to the championship game. They have also shown the ability to get solid pressure on the QB in both of their victories.
The 2 Keys for the game are: Boston just has to keep doing what they are. Either way the go on offense it's going to be tough for the Shockers to stop. Now that they have shown the ability to throw, it makes game planning against them that much harder.
The Shockers need to establish their ground game. Ball control will be huge for them. You need to keep Boston's Offense off of the field. In conjunction with this it is essential that the Shockers get some turnovers and hang onto the ball themselves.
Cinicinnati is a solid squad but Boston wins 41-21
Monmouth Evil Monkeys V Honolulu Hurricane Warriors. The Warriors have been solid but far from their dominate selves thus far in the playoffs. Their famed running attack is averaging 200 yards less per game than it did during the regular season. There D has been solid as usually and taken the pressure off of the O.
Monmouth hasn't been their dominating selves either. Their two wins were closer than they should have been because of their inability to hang onto the football. The flip side is that their Defense has stepped up to the challange and been able to stop their opponents cold.
2 keys to the game: Honolulu needs to find a way to control the Evil Monkeys offense. Monmouth is far from a one dimensional attack, and the Warriors focus to much on Drago and company they will get burned on the ground.
Monmouth's task as it has been for EVERY TEAM that played the Canns this season is to stop the running attack. The Wang Twins in the backfield have been amazing this season. Monmouth needs to hold them under 300 to win the game.
While I have great respect for HHW my pick is a Monmouth win 35-24.
