^, I bumped cover up and still happening more than I would like. Also, anybody ever brought strength to like 80 to 90 range? What were the results. To do this at a lower level obviously some others would have to suffer.

90 strength 3 cover up and 48 carrying. I drop balls like a gay man in a... (insert joke here)

I know a lot of my problem comes from stamina because I do notice that broken tackles wear my guy down a lot and towards the end of the game is when i fumble the majority of the time.

4 fumbles in 400 carries is excellent. I see you have a few in the postseason though. Strength would help. How much carrying do you have? Getting cover up to 5 or 6 may be your best option.

80ish strength, 5 cover up, 38 carrying. Round about.

You could try capping carrying. Other minor things like better agility and vision to help avoid quality hits. Changing from power to combo. Like I said before though, he was excellent during the season.

all physical attributes are above 35. Speed is 60ish and agility is 49. Though about the combo move, but have not made a decision on that yet.

I don't know, but my LVL 25 Power HB had as many fumbles during our 3 playoff games as he did through the whole regular season.

Fumbles are going to be a problem as long as players can't afford to really work on carrying. Soft capped carrying sounds like a lot, however 48 on a 100 point scale (100+ with equipment) isn't all that much. But good luck with taking carrying up to the same level as other primary stats like strength/speed/agility. You might not fumble very often, but you are also probably not doing as much with the ball.

A pure power back could get away with more carrying since he needs less speed and agility than other builds and carrying does play a small role in breaking tackles, but paradoxically he needs it less since he is more likely to be hit head-on, being slower and easier to get in front of. Fumbles have a LOT to do with the speed and especially the angle of the hit. If you are hit from the side while you are running forward or if you are running forward into a player coming towards you from an angle (as opposed to head-on), you tend to fumble more often. If you are tired or demoralized you also tend to fumble more often. So if you REALLY wanted to remove fumbles from your stats you'd want high (not just soft-capped) carrying, stamina, confidence, and very few outside carries that expose you to being hit from the side by a DB or LB. You'd probably also want to retire your player and start over.

If defenders had to work on an anti-carrying stat to force fumbles you might be able to put points into carrying and not have your performance suffer since LBs would probably spend some points there, leaving less for their pursuit and containment related stats. Unfortunately a DB with 20 strength, 30 tackling set to wrap-up style tackling can often force just as many fumbles as a linebacker with 60 strength, 50 Tackling and 9 in the Monster Hit SA set to power tackling, just because the CB often has a better angle and is not blocked so he has some room to build up speed before the hit.

As far as fumbles in the playoffs go I don't know why they seem so much more frequent there than the regular season, other than the obvious explanation that you are facing the best defenses. The power back on the team I am the OC for had 399 touches this season (389 carries, 10 catches) and fumbled only 3 times. By contrast in the playoffs he fumbled twice on 61 carries. At least in his case one possible cause could be a change in the plays he was running. He'd been carrying almost exclusively inside where most collisions were head-on, when we let him take a lot of off-tackle carries in the playoffs he was being hit from the side a lot more often.

However our speed/agility back (with about as much carrying as you can afford to put on a level 40 speed back and a few points in cover up) had 298 touches (205 runs, 37 catches, 56 returns) this regular season with 3 fumbles. In the playoffs he had 3 on 38 runs and 4 catches. In his case he had been running off-tackle all season anyway so a change in play calling wouldn't explain it.

Here's a perfect example by the way.

The power back mentioned in my post above, Mr. Train, who broke 344 tackles in the regular season and another 40+ in 2 playoff games (including 20 against the team that just won our league championship), is a little tired late in the game and gives up a fumble to a #2 CB with a 36 in his tackling scouting bar. He took all kind of hits from much stronger and nastier defenders all game without fumbling, but that weak little CB just comes in from the side and forces a fumble that gets returned for a TD.
